Water weighs about 8lbs a gallon plus the weight of tank and stand it would be around 800lbs.

That was a good price then. This is a good price now for those who didn't get one back then.

It's a great size. 4 ft, by 18in front to back by 20in high. Much better dimensions than a 55, which is only a foot from front to back. Since this isn't drilled (no big deal), and if you want a sump (a tank underneath for more water volume and a great place to put heaters and other equipment), you will need an overflow. I used one from LifeReef and it was flawless.

Anyways, I learned all I need to know about salty fishkeeping from the reefcentral forum. I also bought used equipment from there from other hobbyists with no issues.

Be ready to throw money at your reef. It's so fun and very addictive! It's also kind of pricy, which is why I bought used equipment for the most part.

What overflow did you use for undrilled tank? You have a link?

Great tank to start with. The larger the tank, the more forgiving fishkeeping can be. If you have an ammonia spike in a little tank, everything can die. Larger tanks take much more time for this to get this bad so you can catch it and fix it. Buy a API test kit, does 800 tests for all the things you need to watch. OVER filter this tank. Don't get a filter for a 75 gallon tank, get one that can handle 2-3 times that. More filtering = happier fishes.

I used one of these for years and it worked perfectly: http://www.lifereef.com/siphon.html

You don't have to have a drilled tank and this is a nice option.
