That's what I was told. I'm three hours away from the closest store so I called. I'm not sure why they tell people different things.

I picked up the x3500 a few weeks ago for $549. It was worded trusted name.brand as well. Killer deal tried to price match at the blue and yellow big box store no success. But my sales associate ordered one immediately when I showed him the deal. Hope that helps.

Fry's is known to manipulate model and pricing for different buyers for the Trusted Name Brand items...the more you are informed is Merrier!!! So, do your research upfront then go to the store and don't be afraid to speak to the manager on duty to negotiate. I live like 1.5 mile to both Fry's & BB and have found that it's never simple DEALING with Fry's Good luck!!!

Thanks for this note - it's helpful. I'm not a wheel and deal kinda guy - I prefer things up front and clear, especially for an avr which is running my entire system. And I'm really not into bait and switch.
