Damn you Harbor Freight, put the Planishing Hammer back on sale. I want to pay $80 for it, not 50% more than that.

Last time I brought in a online page (not a coupon) from HF for something on sale and they would price match but not allow me to use a 20% coupon, is that policy now?
Right now I want to buy this: http://www.harborfreight.com/400-...ource=1002 Should they price match and accept a 20% coupon?
Thanks

Question on using 20% coupon at Lowes or Home Depot.

Does it require manager approval? Or can any cashier simply enter the discount?

Color me shocked that the online price differed. Lately all the things I've taken in printouts were that price in store.

In the past, they've had the manager do the online over ride, then the rest of the items were rung up then the coupons. Cashier never said anything about the 20% going against the markdown.

[edit]That is on sale right now, and you should be able to use a 20% off on it...

Is Issue 8084 (active now, 2012-04-25) available anywhere? I found a piece of it (IRL) but wanted to see all of it.

I've been eyeing the Ingersoll-Rand 2135TiMAX and 2115TiMAX (possibly the quiet variants) for probably a year. I've recently (last 3 months) started shopping at HFT and found the 2 CP-E wrenches that are similar, 1/2" ( 68424 [harborfreight.com] ) and 3/8" ( 68425 [harborfreight.com] ). What I've noticed is that they revamped the lineup around August-September 2011 and that the best coupon for the 1/2" has been $69.99 (just before the closeout) and haven't found anything on the 3/8". "Normal" is $119.99/$89.99 while current is $89.99/$84.99. $89.99 - 20% = $71.99 which seems like my best route for the 1/2" unless there's any chance of a coupon better than $69.99.

Anyone know if they've offered coupons for these better than about current price - 20% in the past?

Anyone have the coupon for the $9.99 torque wrenches (your choice of size: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2)?

Thanks!

Cashier can do it as a competitive price match, no manger involved. My ploy is "I hear you match competitor coupons." It is YMMV. The smaller items, I had great luck, but with my table saw it took me 3 or 4 tries on separate stores to get someone to say yes.

I'm guessing the bigger the discount, the more likely they are to call for manager help.

RE Mad Magazine: That is hilarious! Like how the flashlight is never in stock and the sale prices are higher than the regular price. Unfortunately, HF might get some ideas from that ad.

A code (with price, item numbers and expiration) or a picture?

As a Lowes employee I can tell you, we will NEVER price match a 20% off, we'll happily match it for 10% off though. But to match any competitor coupon or give any discount that isn't a 10% off with a barcode, we need a manager or head cashier.

Once in a while we'll get customers arguing that they want us to match a 20% off HF coupon though, because they said Home Depot does it.

So it seems Home Depot is more likely to match it then we will.

Well I looked at the first six coupons and IIRC all of them are inferior to the present sale price + a 20% off coupon (one might have been the same).

Actually the first fifteen there's a grand total of two or three that give you a dollar or two in discounts over the 20%, and a bunch that are worse.

This is ridiculous.

BTW at home depot I had to get a manager to approve the 20% off, but he did and smiled about it as if it was nothing. The local Lowes cashiers all seem to be trained to give you a hard time with coupons. They refuse to apply their own 10% off coupons to some things are on sale, even.
