Anyone have a current coupon for a titanium coated drill bit set? (such as 29pc # 32926)

(not looking for those sheet metal step-drills)

Thanks!

In my research, $299 is the lowest this 26" cabinet ever gets with coupon. I got mine last year around this time. Very high quality and worth the price.

I can't believe how many HF coupons are for sale on Ebay??????

Other than this thread, I bet if people would just Google the HF item they wanted and the word coupon they could get a printable for free!

Are people just nuts?

That is such an annoying practice. My mom has fallen for it a couple times...they feed off of the people that use strictly eBay and don't shop around online.

Ok, you guys are making me interested in the "Roller Cabinet, 26" 8 Drawer with 8 Drawer Top Chest "

But my question is - when you keep this in your garage how do you keep your tools from rusting? All my tools are still in mint condition and I'd like to keep them that way. I have seen a lot of tools being sold at auctions from these roller tool cabinets and it appears that they rust as they sit in the drawers.

If I drop $300 on this thing I don't want my tools to rust.

How do you prevent it?

Also is there a way to lock this thing down so that if someone were to break into my garage they couldn't take off with it and all the tools? It appears both the upper and lower sections have lockable drawers, but I'd also like to be able to make sure this thing isn't going to be rolled into the back of a truck when I'm not around.

Thank you.

tools rust when they sit around for a long time unused. getting rained on, please don't store any in plastic buckets in the backyard, they will rust for sure. i don't use them everyday but i haven't seen any rusty ones in my garage. also you need to control the humidity around tools. save some dry packs and throw them in the drawers. i've seen people wiping down tools with oil to keep them good, you can try that but cars being the only thing i work on my tools get plenty of oil on them so there's no need to apply a layer.

you really can't keep the thief away. drawer locks shouldn't be hard to punch through. if you want to slow them down don't install the caster wheels. anchor the cart down on the garage concrete with anchor/washer/nut (same concert as installing a safe). i would throw a cover on the cart after you are done. thief either scope you out or go for the easiest things to grab. you can't stop them, but you can try to be a less eye catching target

Ive had a lot of my tools in a craftsman box that looks just like that one for 10+ years and none have rusted. Oh and to make sure no one rolls it into the back of a truck, lock your doors on your house and garage Big Grin

I keep a lightly oiled rag over some of my tools prone to rusting and it seems to work pretty well. My biggest problem is in the spring when the frost is coming out of the ground and my garage is really damp from the temperature swings. I open each of the drawers to keep the tools ventilated and keep the air moving though the garage. I also bought a bunch of these: http://www.menards.com/main/tools...c-9188.htm from Menards when they were on sale for $1. I haven't given them a try to see if they work yet.

If you live in an area where they salt the roads, you may also want to keep the box covered in the winter so when you pull your car in the garage the box doesn't get covered with airborne salt.

As far as theft goes, I guess bolting it to the wall would help prevent someone easily making off with your box. If they want it bad enough, they're going to get it though.

damn thats a good idea those little packets. i really haven't had much issues with rust seeing as most tools i have are chrome. but to be honest i've noticed the non chrome HF tools seem to rust faster then the craftsman or snap on ones... but most of my tools are older so.

Those things are on sale at Menards starting today for the next two weeks. In the description it says that they last for only 4 months. :-(

"3in1 No-Rust Shield™ emits a vapor that forms an invisible layer that seals metals from air and moisture. Perfect for use in tool boxes, tackle boxes, gun cases and more. Protects for up to 4 months. Unique time gauge indicates when it's time to replace. 3M Command Strip allows for mounting and easy removal."
