Haven't watched TPiR in a while, so when I saw it earlier, it reminded me of how much I hate when the contestants do that.😌

You know you don't get your prizes till you pay the taxes on them 1st? One of my coworkers was on Price is Right in the early 90s, he was in his 20s and even has the youtube video to show us. He won $10,000 and after the show you go to the back to get the paper work squared away. He overheard one of the guys who won a car trying to figure out how he was going to pay the taxes in order to claim the prize.

Any contest you win is the same way, if it's over , I think, $600 (number may be +-100). It's not TPIR, it's the IRS.

There has also been complaints that TPIR prizes are floor models, scratch and dent and having to pay taxes on retail value, also some contestants sell items in parking lot after show. Also not everyone in audience is eligible to win, they now narrow into groups with producers discretion after several mentally impaired people got up on stage.
