I do notice that the K7XX are more comfortable to wear for a long period of time, which I do for gaming on my PC. I can power the 58x with my phone without a DAC and it sounds good with the volume maxed out, can't say the same for the K7XX.
I haven't used both long enough to comment on the SQ but I prefer the K7XX for gaming and 58X for music use

I have k701 and hd650, which are said to be very close to k7xx and k58x.
K701, if driven well with a decent amp, has a much wider soundstage and imaging, more pronounced details and fabulous high ends, but a bit shy on the bass end.
HD650 has more base, and warmer mids, and it is easier to drive. A phone/iPod could drive hd650 fairly well, but k701 sounds horrible on a phone.
The sder in me came here to warn about massdrop. I'm not the type to keep around headphones if I'm not going to use them. Massdrop is essentially msrp, and they are not limited release like they describe. No returns, so if you don't like the sound. Good luck recouping your money. Lost a pretty penny the first few years massdrop was around. That being said, after 30+ headphones, k7xx is one of the few I've kept around.

In the end tho, they are all great headphones each bringing something slightly different to the table. My personal opinion agrees that the K7XX are a bit more comfortable than the rest and I do value comfort quite a lot.
