This is a FYI for people who are interested in a CHEAP ($20 per month)Unlimited Plan through AT&T. The UConnect plan via the ZTE Mobley is back for a limited time. Currently, AT&T is sold out of the device (and its not certain if they will getting them back in stock). but you can still get the plan if you can come up with the ZTE Mobley device. You can still find a handful of the devices on eBay currently. The cool thing about the device is that people have figured out how to create adapters so the device can run off a wall outlet.

Per the wonderful website, RVmobileinternet.com you need to call a special ATT number to get the deal as it a special promotion. Below are the two numbers they listed on the website:

Primary Phone Number: 855-894-9945

Secondary Phone Number: 866-662-4548

HERE ARE LINKS TO THE RVMOBILEINTERNET SITE WHERE THEY DISCUSS WHAT THE MOBLEY IS AND HOW TO GET THIS DEAL:

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-of-stock/

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-campaign/

You can read about the device on several active forums too. Howard Forums is probably one of the best!

Just ordered a 3rd one, had 2 from 2017 deal. No problems, told him about the deal, already had a Mobley, used the imei off of one of my other 2 Mobleys.

Sending me the Sim card in the mail, painless. Thanks
Curious why you have 3 of these plans? What are you doing with them?

Is there a specific ZTE IMEI generator or can I use a random IMEI generator?
You need to use an IMEI that identifies as a ZTE Mobley device.

You'll want the match the first couple segments of a legit IMEI in order to get this deal, I'll post that part at the bottom. First 6 are the model information and the next 2 are manufacturer specific code, the 6 after that are the serial number which you can choose but I wouldn't go crazy. I haven't seen any legit serials on this model over 035000 because they probably didn't make a ton. Randomize that 6 bit, and the last digit is a check digit, which has a dumb formula you don't care about, just use a IMEI calculator and it will tell you what the last digit should be.

Once again, although using fake IMEI numbers has worked so far for people with these lines, there is no guarantee that ATT doesnt terminate accounts using these fake numbers. Or worse...

I am glad I bought a brand new Mobley with a fresh IMEI. This way I don't have to worry about this possibility.

If you go this route - be sure to run an actual IMEI check once you are done to ensure the device is identified as a ZTE VM6200 (you can you the same website for this)

AT&T rep only asks for the IMEI to verify eligibility, it's not saved on the account, theirs no way for them to tell if it's real or not and once you connect your actual device, that's what will show on your account.

Actually you DO have to worry its entirely possible someone has a line activated with your IMEI.

You wasted money on a mobely. sucks.

I think Bill is just salty he overpaid for the mobley for no reason... I agree w/you - if you plan to use the SIM in another hotspot anyway then no need to purchase a mobley when you can just generate an IMEI yourself... if AT&T ever decides to boot folks off this plan they will do so based on the IMEI being reported from the SIM card - so only safe method would be to use the mobley 100% of the time (which tons of people with this plan do not do)....

You activate the line on an actual device, not on a phone call with the promotion rep, the scenario you are talking about is impossible

Exactly correct. I personally choose to use a different device because they are faster and cheaper, but I do so knowing that it is "potentially" against the terms of my plan. The great part about that is the ambiguity in the plan definition which adds a greater unlikelihood they would try it.

The plan doesn't specifically call out the device, just the class of device (mobile hotspot data only). You're fine as shown by the last two years of use and was just to get the account opened at a promotional price.

There's the plan we are essentially signing up for, just call-in and say you already have a device and need to activate it using the info provided in this thread.
You may have to call more than once to get a rep that knows what they're doing. There's a credit check, even if you're an existing customer.

I could sell my sprint plan since it is easily transferred. These on the otherhand require a credit pull and SS # so If someone sells it to you and you dont pay they will still be responsible
