If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

Came late to the party, question, is it 48 months aka 4 years since the last time you earn bonus? I initialy thought it is 24 months but maybe it is the southwest card. I had the reserve 3 years now and wonder if I can cancel to reapply for the preferred for bonus. Do I have to wait until 48months after the last time I got bonus from the Reserve

48 months since the last time you got a bonus on any Sapphire card (it's 24 months on all other chase bonuses, 48 is specific to the sapphire family which are all treated as one card for the 48 month clock)

Anyone have experience being the second card holder for reserve? Ie, I signed up my spouse for reserve and got the 100k points when it came out, and I put myself as additional card holder. If I sign up for this can I put her as additional cardholder and still get the reward points?

Yes. The Reserve was launched in September 2016. If you got the card at launch and received the signup bonus immediately the following month, you are not eligible to be approved for another Sapphire card until at least October 2020.

You can be approved, you just aren't eligible for the sign on bonus, right? Why would they not give you another card, they're just trying to cut down on churn.

You can each get your own signup bonus- being an AU has no impact on this... (though chase may initially count being an AU on a card as one of your 5/24 slots)

I called up Chase but they couldn't tell me exactly when my signup bonus was credited to my account, as the account has been closed for about a year.

My Quicken application has an opening balance for the CSP card starting around 9/30/2016. It looks like I hit the $3k spend around 12/2016. So I won't qualify for the bonus signup until around 12/2020. But I would like to know the exact date. Anyone have any idea if there is a way to know? It seems Chase Reward site only has recent activity.

CSP has primary auto collision which would have been handy in my last trip. Someone dinged me.

I meant exactly what I wrote earlier. Chase will not approve an application for a Sapphire card if you're bonus ineligible.

Not meaning to offend. You're the expert with a credit card blog here, so I believe you. I just think that seems a little nuts.

Good deal. Don't necessarily need the points but it would be nice to get another quick influx before our next international trip to offset some of the costs. Appreciate it.

Tell that to Chase... PointsYak is 100% correct on this point. To be specific, take a look at the T&C's for the card from the OP link.

The restrictive language is specifically tailored to eligibility to receive "the product" - ie, the card, and not to "the new cardmember bonus", which is used only to ID the group of people for whom the restrictive language is intended to apply to.

I received a CSR bonus in February of 2017. Since then, I've downgraded CSR to Freedom.

Out of the blue, Chase sent me an invitation for CSP with 60K points ($95 AF not waived).
What do you think? With the pre-approval, would my application for CSP be approved, even though I received a CSR bonus 28 months ago? Thanks!

What do you guys do after a year has elapsed and you'd be charged $99? Is there any way to ask them not to charge the fee?

Nope. Unfortunately, you'll be declined.

I currently have the CSP, but I failed to get the sign up bonus because I didn't hit the required spend. I have had the card for about 2.5 years. If I cancelled or downgraded the CSP to a CF, would I be eligible for the bonus?
