If you currently have any kind of Saphire personal card that is active, you will NOTqualify for bonus points, even if you are approved.
If you close your Saphire card recently, you will need to wait 48 months from the date you received the previous Saphire bonus before applying to get the new card's bonus points.
Be careful not to waste a hard credit pull Smilie

Chase T&C:
"The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products."
95 af is not waived for first year basically previously it was 50k with 95 waived first year now it's 60k with 95 af so pretty much the same
Also I'll get csr rather than csp if you spend 3400+ in travel, dining etc
It is pretty straightforward. When you use your card for ANY travel purchase (like Airbnb, airfare, hotels, Lyft, Uber, parking, some tolls, and many others), you will automatically be reimbursed, until you've spent a total of $300 on travel. In other words, Chase will pay for the first $300 in travel you spend each year with your card.

Have a 5 year old Chase Freedom that doesn't get used@ all.
Can this be converted to a Sapphire Preferred & also get the sign up 60k pts?
Or just keep the Freedom & signup separately for the SP?

You cannot convert and get the bonus. It has to be a new application.

Oh crap. I meant to say "thanks for applying" and they would let me know something. Just surprised because of high credit score/income.

I called Chase but all I got was an auto response of "working on your application and will contact you if something else needed" and then hung up on me. I wanted to get the card asap so I could put a new car I plan on buying on it and then paying it right off.

Best way to use the points? Use for travel at a value of 1.25 cent?

Best at what?

Best at $ per points is transfers to airlines for first class tickets, 6-10 cents a point is pretty doable, next best is same but business class tickets where 3-6 cents a point isn't hard to find either.

After that you can get 2-ish cents a point with a number of airline transfers in coach, or hotel rooms transferring points to Hyatt.

Then 1.5 cents in the portal via the (generally better though less obviously so than it used to be) CSR card

Then finally 1.25 cents via this card or the Ink Preferred and the portal

If I call them to get confirmation will they tell that it has been 48months? Or have to review statements(no more accessible)

Contrary to what that person claimed, it is fairly common not to get instantly approved even with excellent credit - it has been happening more often in recent weeks/months.

Also, is this the best deal going right now for a $4k spend? I need to pay for tuition this weekend and wouldn't mind dumping it on a card that'll earn me the most $

General rule is points are worth the most by transferring to a partner. Especially Hyatt. You have to look at each transaction individually thru the Portal. Even tho u get 1.25% thru the Portal, you should compare to just going direct. An individual booking thru the portal may or may not render the most value.

Worth for what?

It's $600 taken as statement credits.

It's potentially $1000-1500 in Hyatt hotel stays transferred there

It's potentially MANY thousands of dollars in business or first class airfare transferred to partners.

Chase Ink Business Preferred is 80,000 points for 5k spend if you can swing that.

Chase Ink Cash or Chase Ink Unlimited are 50,000 points each for 3k spend each.

At specifically and exactly 4k on a single card this is probably your best bet
