How is a plasma the benchmark for black levels when only OLED reaches actual black? 🤔
He's referring to Kuro for black levels. I think the max they went to was 60 inches. You have to travel back in time .... around 10-12 years to get one. Or you can find it on craigslist, ebay or in some museum
I had debated this myself between the Sony 77 OLED and the 85X900. But at that distance, I chose the 85x900f. Although you sacrifice picture quality, the 85 is a more immersive experience. Additionally if your paying above $3.5k for a TV, I would hate having to worry about babysitting the TV due to burn in. Had a Pioneer Kuro and although the picture quality is still the benchmark for TV black levels, I hated the fact that I needed to babysit it as well, but at least the image retention went away over a period of time.
The x900 is "good enough" to be an all-rounder, and has great picture quality. At this point in time, I would go for the more mature technology until the kinks in OLED are worked out. By that time, you'll probably need a new TV (5-6 years)

Bigger the better - no doubt. Why wouln't you save some more money and get ... say 86" LG 86UK6570PUB 4K HDR Smart TV w/ AI ThinQ ? Dell Home & Office.com has it with $250 Dell Promo eGift Card for $2297.

Since when has OLED not been the standard for black levels? Kuro was King until OLED came along; at least that's my understanding.

Completely disagree with with this. All leds will have issues with flash lighting and inferior blacks. Ive spent this amount on an led tv before, worst decision I've ever made. Get the oled

Doesn't compare to the 900F in the movies or HDR movies categories which is what I do a lot of.
Where is 80 inch plasma?
