Kindle Unlimited is basically like a premium version of Prime Reading, and Kindle Unlimited gives you access to many more books than what is offered on Prime Reading.

Because why should they go back to the better offer? Afaik, this is the 1st offering of 2 months rather than 3. Next stop, no KU multi month $1 offers at all anymore.

It seems to be quite random. And I've had 2 month offers in the past and have gotten 3 month offers after that.
