Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%
But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

"couldn't verify funds"... or something of the sorts. I used TD bank checking account to transfer funds. Tried twice with the correct information. No way to try again, or save my application. It just dead ended after trying to transfer funds.
Trash, would not recommend, waste of time.
I too got similar error with BoA and my application was denied. Tried again after few hours with chase bank and it worked. Today got the trial deposit in my chase account. So you can also try with another bank and see if it works.
I signed up and made a deposit yesterday. Today they suspended my account....... Would not recommend. Also, the limit on check deposits is $3000. Huge pain to work with this bank.
warning: never go the SD rebate from last year's macy's deals around thanks giving.
i am generally a fan of SD but SD rebates - candidate for BBB reports.
I chatted with their rep and asked if they offered Wire Transfers with Memo known as "to further credits to" or "Special Instructions" but they said you need to sign up first to know?
Insanity, If anyone has an account, please let me know if they offer that and how much
I was thinking to open an account with Ally. Anyone know how the compare?
Can't speak to HSBC. Last time I had an account with them was 15 years ago as a student...things have definitely changed since then. However, I've been an Ally customer since 2012. I think the competition has been responding to Ally. Because of their lack of a physical presence (which of course comes with the downside of being unable to accept cash deposits) which reduces overhead costs, they have always been able to offer the highest interest rates. I joined them specifically because they were offering the highest yield at the time (0.8%? 0.9%? I forget...Fed Int Rate was at 0%). Other banks are now matching as you can see. Ally is still great - excellent app, superb service (always quick to respond on the phone and by chat). They previously did unlimited ATM fee reimbursement, but not anymore (probably too many people abusing it?). While they encourage use of AllPoint ATM's which are free to use (which can be used multiple times in succession - AllPoint ATM withdrawal limit varies by location) and available all over, they still reimburse up to $10 of ATM fees per month (deposited at the end of the month), which includes international ATM transactions amazingly. Checks are free, cashier's checks are free (with one week of delivery time). Mobile deposits are easy to do (the mobile app provides an assisted tool for grabbing images). The app previous was unable to handle the oversized business checks, but they fixed that - works fine now.

Ally is better. Although if looking for a higher rate, something like Citizen's access might be a better option.
Only reason to do the HSBC deal is for the bonus. I wouldn't suggest using it as a real bank.
