Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%
But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

Well, "game" is figurative. Many banks offer a bonus for opening an account, meet the requirements, collect bonus, and move on. I made $1400 in bank bonuses last year, have $900 so far this year with $400 more coming in the next month. DoctorOfCredit is a good source of info.
Those are pretty much standard bonuses. Once in a while you'll see things like Ally and its 1% bonus (up to 1K) or the Sapphire bonus at $750, but otherwise most bonuses are in the $200-$300 range.
I think Discover also has a $200/25K offer and Capital One usually has some sort of offer for new customers. I thought the HSBC offer only required 10K? But maybe they changed their requirements. Check out doctor of credit for all the zillion bonuses out there.
The thing to keep in mind also is money lost if a bank doesn't offer a 2% savings acct. Sometimes it doesn't really pay to do a bonus, especially ones that require 50K+, if you leave it sitting there earning 0% interest for 6 months.
If new to this, I'd recommend the Discover bonus first, as they tend to pay out superfast (like within a week). And I think they also allow cumulative deposits.
I really appreciate your suggestions, this is the week I am prepared to deposit $10-20k (depending on bonus payouts) and from here was what I was able to find with rudimentary web searches:
-Discover Online Savings Account: $150 bonus when $15k deposited (bonus is credited quite quickly, I would deposit 7/11 and receive bonus by 7/25.
-Capital One 360 Money Market: Fund $10k within 10 days, earn $200 after 90 days (plus 60 more days before payout)
-HSBC Bank Advance Checking: Get $350 welcome deposit after depositing $5k, maintain balance for 90 days (direct deposit and other requirements additional here)
-Citi Personal Savings: Get $400 welcome deposit after depositing $15k, maintain a minimum balance of $15,000 between the checking and savings accounts for 60 consecutive calendar days
-Wells Fargo Everyday Checking: Get $400 when within 150 days of account opening, you set up and receive at least three consecutive monthly direct deposits of $3,000 each month, 45 days later bonus will be paid out.
Can anyone suggest any better bonus' for the bonus jump game? TIA!

This is the one I'd recommend first:

If you don't have 25K, try the cumulative deposit thing. Which means deposit the 15K you have, wait a day or so, ach out 10K to another bank, then ach the 10K back in a couple of days later. And of course make sure it all gets back before the deadline. Worst case you'll just get the $150 bonus, but I think a lot of people have stated they got the $200 bonus that way. And don't forget whatever bonus codes you need when signing up.
I wasn't able to do the capital one bonus myself due to being an existing customer. Just be aware that even old savings accounts like ing or orange savings may make you ineligible, since they converted to capital one.
I've done both the hsbc and citi promos... pretty painless, but I also signed up for them in-branch. If that's an option for you, that's what I'd recommend. That way you get a banker who should keep track of it for you. And in my case, annoyingly so... kept getting calls 'checking' how I liked my accounts, do I want to meet with an investment guy, and so on. A necessary evil, but bonuses were paid out on time.
HSBC is more like a 6 month wait, I think ... close the acct too soon and you'll get hit with a fee. I just stuck my money in a 1 year CD to be safe. But I think they recently changed the requirements, so now you require direct deposits and such.
Citi was fine, but not sure if you can keep the money in a CD or online savings, so there may be some interest lost with that one. It was more like a 4-6 month hold too, if I remember right. They may state 60 days, but then you need to wait a couple of months longer to actually get the bonus. You should be able to move some of the money out after 60 days, but doublecheck on that and if there would be any fees/min balance required for checking.
Doctor of credit is the place to look for all the bank bonuses out there. The only other big one I recommend, if you have the funds for it, is the sapphire bonus at chase. Either 60K pts or $750 for 75K ... and putting the funds into an investment account works too.
Great info Namelessme. I would add Chase, easy $300 checking account bonus and they also have a savings bonus. Direct deposit of any amount triggers the checking bonus, but you have to keep the account open for 6 months or they claw back the bonus, and to avoid a $15 monthly fee you need $500/mo direct deposit or $1500 balance. I'm also doing $250 bonuses at regional banks BBVA & Bank of the West that are here in AZ.
