But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.

Don't be an @sshole.. Where are you seeing this? I see on the application page that you can open with $1 but often bonuses require larger amounts of money. The application page doesn't mention any details on the rebate since it is slickdeals provided and I see nothing on the application page about early closure. The link for the rebate has no details on it either. You would things like this would be listed in the details of this post maybe if they are important.

I applied today the last day of the deal but HSBC says my application is "being reviewed" and they may contact me in the next 48 hours. So do I still qualify for the bonus if it is approved since I applied today?
