Generally this is how it goes:
Poster 1: "This is garbage. For just $200 more you could get XYZ."
Poster 2: "Yeah, but if you're going to move up $200, then you could just get ABC for another $150 more, and get much more value. Honestly XYZ is garbage."
....
Poster 10:"But if you really want to move out of entry level, you'll want to get LMN. Total setup will run about $10k, but completely worth it. Not necessarily end-game level though..."
Many people would probably advise against mixing and matching between speaker brands, or even speaker lines, for a 5.1 system. They are all tuned to different frequency curves, and are more likely to clash with each other's sound than compliment one another.

Just some food for thought.

Been cherry picking deals off sd for the past few weeks to get my 5.1 home theater set up. Ended up costing me over $1k.. Not sure if my setup is better than just buying either of these packaged deals. My setup only has bookshelves and surrounds, where as this package comes with towers and bookshelves... Could return it all XD

Denon AVR-X2400H - $349.99
Sony Core Series 5 3Way Bookshelf Speakers Pair - $74.99
Polk Audio LSiM704c Center Channel Speaker, Midnight Mahogany - $229.99
JBL SUB 550P - $199.95
JBL Studio 210 - $129.95

All before tax except JBLs, no tax on those for some reason.

Edit: Thanks for all the feedback. I ordered a pair of lsim 703s used, to replace the SCS5 cause I clearly dunno what I'm doing.

As always has been and forever will be, these Klipsch speaker bundles are bad. Subpar speakers for too much money, but it tricks the inexperienced because hey you can buy all of them at once. Do the legwork and buy better brands, spoiler: They don't ever do 5-channel speaker setup deals like this. This is exclusively the work of brands like Klipsch, Polk, and the lesser brands for convenience over quality.
Bad compared to what? Can you give examples of something in the same price range that you deem better, not just keep bashing it every time it's posted.

So... I'm a noob and even more confused. Sounds like people hear things and have different preferences. I'll just go into a store and hear their setup to decide what I want. Appreciate your time...

If Klipsch and Polk are lesser brands, then I'd love to hear what you'd recommend instead.

If it sounds good to you....I would keep it....but this is all subjective, another person might think it sucks and another person might think it's better than sliced bread. Being that I've not heard this particular setup with the amp and how its tuned I personally could never say this is way better than the setup you have now...either way good luck!

The 703 books will be a better fit with that 704c, but beware Polk LSiM speakers need a LOT of power to get loud. They are big, heavy, and I love the sound they produce. YMMV, but I wholeheartedly recommend the LSiM series. I can't say much on Klipsch, I've never put them into my environment so I can't comment on this set, however the 683 is a solid AVR and will drive the bundle well. (On paper)
