    I got both this and the other Gretsch double cutaway last time they were on sale. Combined with my monoprice tube amp, the 2420 sounds beautiful clean. Double cutaway sounds great, too, but just had a different feel. Both hollow body, but double has a smaller body, about half depth of the 2420. 2420 feels and plays more like an acoustic with electric strings. Double cut also feels like a much longer neck since the bigsby puts the bridge more in the center of the guitar body. Easier to reach high notes, but just takes getting used to. At this point, I play the 2420 more. Can pick up a fitted hard case for either for about $100.

    Bigsby stays in tune pretty well, and I use it a lot.

    If the doublecut is the same one I was looking at, the difference is this one is a hollow body and the doublecut is a semi-hollow.

    Don't know about this one and not a fan of 'tron gretsch pickups

    However I bought a gretsch wood body resonator and very surprised at the quality. I have 2 national metal bodies and can't put this little gretsch down. It's not Natonal quality or price but gee whiz impressive little guitar - well made

    I don't question the quality of this one
