Just bought this one yesterday.my only complaint about the item is... It's got only 3-4 ft power cord. Relatively short compared to my lasko tower fan...

These things go fast - don't wait for the last sale date - based on my last year's experience where they were gone by the middle of the sale period and never came back. I picked them up last week - have yet to checkout how good/bad they are.

Bought one of these from Costco a couple of years ago when it came with a second, mini tower fan.

The mini had a button break after a year: I can only have it on the high setting if I tape the button down.

The full size fan still works, but its squeaks a lot, sometimes to the point that I have to smack it until it gets to a less painful pitch. I haven't gone thru the effort to disassemble it and lube everything but overall, I'm not too impressed with the quality. Online reviews at Costco.com in the past were also not very flattering.

Lots of people were buying these at my local Costco too. But I'm not impressed with the quality. Feels cheap and it doesn't have a quiet mode.

There's a night mode in which the fan is supposed to spin down to be quieter over time, but I didn't have the patience to wait for how long it'd take until it did that. Would be interested in feedback on that feature.

Yep and there were only 3 left at my store in Westbury, NY because they had them facing the entrance.

What do you expect for $20? That's the cost of 4 coffees at Starbucks. Of course you're not going to get bulletproof construction at that price point.

These are cheap. They move a lot of air. They don't take up a lot of floor space. They'll last for at least 2 seasons. For $10 or less a summer they're a damn good deal.

I bought 2 of these the last time went on sale and returned both. They both started screeching/scraping about 10 minutes into their first use. I thought okay maybe one was bad, but both literally within the first 10 minutes of taking them out of the box and turning them on.

Weird. I had no problems at all with mine. Did you leave one of the styrofoam inserts on it, or forget to remove some of the tape that holds it in place during shipping? There were a lot of small pieces of tape that needed to be removed.

I got 2 last year. They do the job. Like one poster said they are not whisper quiet and aren't the sturdiest, but the do the job. For $20 It's a steal.

The other thing I didn't like is the LEDs are pretty bright when you are sleeping it lights up the whole room at night. I'm thinking about breaking out the black electrical tape and taping over the lights.

Great deal for a throwaway fan.

I expect better than that from Costco, tbh. These aren't the first fans I've ever bought but they were certainly the ones that failed the soonest. Your expectations are lower than mine obviously, and that's fine. I was giving information to other users: maybe they aren't interested in buying an item that's going to malfunction in a year or two and will look at something more expensive but less prone to breakage.

These went fast last year. This year my costco is stocking 3 times what they had last year, I have a feeling other Costco's are doing this too. Another interesting thing about this is that my Visio sound bar remote will turn this fan on.

I bought 3 fans last year and ended up returning them all. After about a week of use with the fan in the same location, the buttons stopped responding or remapped to a different function. Bad quality and I would not recommend.
