    Not sure who marked this as not helpful, but they suck. capsaicin spray was the only thing that worked with keeping squirrels from chewing up my cars engine wiring.

    Somewhat related to this product - Does anyone know what you're supposed to do with Black Oil Sunflower bird food? Not seeds but the little balls. Doesn't seem any feeders would work with it.

    Are you talking about the sunflower hearts? If so, use them in any feeder you would use sunflower seeds in and they should work ok.

    Buy a capsaicin spray to treat your bird food with, buy hot/peppered bird food or make your one using a little peanut oil and a healthy amount of habanero spice or some other other hot pepper (cayenne is a common one, but you have to use a ton of it). The hot bird seed won't harm or deter the birds at all (they can't taste it and it doesn't hurt them) and it should deter the squirrels or at least reduce how much of it they are willing to eat. It's also not supposed to harm the squirrels.
