They said buy it using your email account ( I just assumed they meant Gmail account....)
Activate it using that account within 30 days of purchase to essentially keep the discount....
I said that I would keep it on Fi for 30 days then cancel...they said that was not necessary, you could cancel right after you activate. There's no minimum period to pay for Fi service....

So 20$ to activate first month and never use it after? For 500$ after taxes seems like great deal
That's what it seems like. I did not see anything on the site that states a minimum amount of time. Obviously I don't know for sure as I didn't call them.

I was thinking the same thing, except it may constitute as "fraud" and they could black ball the phone, and then you have a mess. Best bet is to pay the extra $20 for service and activate on a fresh Goggle account and wait it out 30 days (or less?).
100% intend on activating to avoid Bs. Just don't know if I want xl or regular for one hand usability. The diff of 50$ makes me want the xl
I'm still rocking a Nexus 5x and have been holding out for the 3a launch (gotta have the 3.5mm)...but this is oh so tempting. On the fence about moving to the dongle life.
