The fact the previous deal expired means $39.99 is not the normal price always. Normal price is $49.99 and deal price of $39.99 has resurfaced again today

Hard to bite on this when the Sandisk 256GB was $30 a few days ago.

I don't think it matters. They're both rated at 100MB/sec and in practice get about 55MB/sec continuous.

I'm not talking about whether it matters or not, I'm talking about why the price was $30!

Average over the entire card write speed?

The Sandisk will hit the 100MB/sec rating all day but it can't average that over the entire card as one long continuous action.

yes

im not sure how you are hitting 100MB/ sec write for the sandisk 256gb A1 class 10 rating.
i see reviews on newegg as 40's to 60's. Sandisk is a lot slower than the samsung cards. There is a big difference in write speed on U1 vs U3 cards. Return your sandisk and get this card... you wont regret it.

another reason why i dont buy sandisk is failure rates. Samsung is just awesome.

damn it. Why dont they lower the 512gb card already... lowest i saw was 120... im trying to hard to hold out for when its sub 100. My nintendo switch is begging for it. Having two 256gb cards isnt the same as one 512gb card =/

Any idea on how will be the performance if I store VMware or virtual box instance on the SD card?
