Jim Lee recently tweeted out the code JIMLEECOMICS to save 20% ($15) on a DC Universe annual subscription, taking a year of the service from $75 to $60. Pretty cool considering they just added the 21,000+ library of DC comics. A sub to this service includes these comics, original shows (Titans, Doom Patrol), and the bulk of their animated work.

My experience has been largely positive. I'll list out some pros and cons.
Pros:
Now have 20k+ comics on the service. They have every single issue DC comic with a 1 year delay on new books. New books are released weekly now. It's extremely comprehensive, and they are digitizing missing issues as they go.
They're adding their animated movies to the service very shortly after physical release, so it'll be nice to keep up with that.
The books looks great. They download super fast (like so fast that Comixology is really upsettingly slow by comparison). The few issues I've had with books (Batman #6 was not downloading in HD, for example) have been fixed extremely quickly when I reached out to customer service.
Lots of good shows: Young Justice, Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, Titans, Batman TAS (1080p version), Superman TAS, Justice League (Unlimited), etc.
Performance of everything on the service has been great so far. It seems polished for the most part.
They are compiling events and storylines with tie-ins in reading order, which is super convenient, as that's a huge pain in the butt. Brightest Day, for instance, has like 100+ issues and tie-ins. They've compiled it in the proper order so you can read it easily.
You can mix and match media types in lists. So if you want to make a list out of movies, tv shows, and comics, you can do that. It's handy when you want to make a themed list around a particular character or story.
Surprisingly, the community part of the service is really cool. Everyone is really nice and helpful. They organize events through the community hub (like watch-alongs for new episodes of TV shows and book clubs and stuff). I'm surprised how much I like the community hub. It's kind of a hidden gem on that thing that they never really discuss.
Cons:
The search still needs work. They rolled out all the comics quickly, and haven't updated the search/filter functions to deal with the huge influx of content just yet. I'm sure they will, but for now, discovery is an issue, and you're really better off knowing what you want before you start looking around.
Inconsistencies between the website and the apps. For example, you can add an entire series to a list on the website, but not on the app. And if you do add a series from the website to a list, the list will not load properly in the app. It just won't show the series. To show correctly, you need to add individual issues to the list.
Speaking of, there's no way to bulk add issues to lists. You have to go one at a time. It's crazy tedious. Brightest Day, which I mentioned earlier? Yeah, you need to add all 100+ issues to a list separately if you want to make a list out of it.
There's not a lot of content on the TV/movie side of things. There's quite a bit, and a lot of it is really good, but it's not like overflowing. It's kind of jarring when you compare to the comic side of things.
There's not really a way to search out events. They organize them for you, but you can't search for them. Like, say you want to read Final Crisis, so you type that into the search. You're only going to get the main series for the most part. You won't get tie-ins (unless they happen to have Final Crisis in the name). This is especially annoying because if there's an event or storyline they haven't curated for you, there's no good way to find that stuff out. Like, if you find yourself reading a book, and it enters into a crossover, and you'd like to read that crossover, you'll have to use outside sources to tell you what to read next.
No Vertigo comics. The reps within the community hub are surprisingly candid about information when you ask. According to them, in order to get the entire DC comics lineup, they had to sacrifice Vertigo (at least for now). Basically, DCU is not DC. They have to make deals just like everyone else, though I'm sure they get better ones being part of the same company. A result of their negotiations for all DC comics was that they lost comics from other imprints (like Vertigo) and those books may or may not come back depending on negotiations and deals with other entities. For now, a couple of things remain because they were specifically negotiated (like Swamp Thing), but others are not (Animal Man by Grant Morrison is being removed at the end of this month). So, it kind of sucks, but it is what it is. There's still 20k+ comics, just no Sandman, iZombie, Animal Man, etc.
My experience with the services has been very positive so far. I think it's a spectacular value at $60. The original shows are great. The 1080p versions of old shows look great. The comic selection is amazing. There are definitely some quality of life changes that need to happen though. Those are my main concerns (which you can probably tell from my cons), but DC has said most of what I mentioned is on their roadmap for a near future update (again, that cool Community hub). I highly recommend the service if you want to get into DC comics and you want some shows and a pretty cool community center as side benefits.
tl;dr: Cool service, need some QoL adjustments, but ultimately it's easily worth the money.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm on my 80 cent promo currently too.
Same here, I have 8 months left on my current sub. I am hoping it would extend it 12 months but I'm worries if it would just start the 12 months from now instead. I know Xbox live, ps plus, and all that stuff will add it to the end of your current expiration but 8 months is a long time to gamble away to save $15
