Here we go again...this time with the 5SE's. Welcome the Adorama/Hifiman 5 series pricing roller coaster. Will they go lower? Hmmm...limited edition, so maybe not down as far as the 560s.
Pro Tip: don't spend 699 on them LOL.

this is not an exclusive adorama color or build, once these sold out, they are gone, or so I read when they were released last year...
Yeah that's what I saw as well. Like 500 sets total, so kind of hard to imagine these riding down over time like the 560s. That said, I wanted to pick them up a month or so when they were down to 449, so glad I didn't bite. Not sure if waiting for them to go lower will work given limited supply.
So of course it's good when prices drop, but just had a guitar I got from Adorama drop 50 from a few weeks ago, and that doesn't feel very good, so I have empathy for those that bit these recently at the higher $. All that said, I will always love Adorama...great seller and great prices!
Any comparison to the 560v3 from Adorama? Enjoy my pair very much, but it could use a bit more bass. The treble seems to have also smoothed out over time.

Also V2, as well as the He400i.
What we previous Hifiman owners want to know is, if there's any benefit in buying or trying these out?
from what I know, these supposed to be better than v2 and 400i. But, when it comes to headphones, better is subjective.
Many paid $150 for the400i.
So unless these go under $200, I don't see as many adopters. Well I know that part of it was a fire sell, because some of the band breaking and poorly soldered cord issues. Heck, both my 400i, and 560, both have cords that cause the sound to cut out when you move it around.
Anyhow, considering how hard it is to properly amplify the 560's, I might sell mine + 400i, and get the HE5se. But will wait for a $250 price break, if that ever happens.

i tried both 560 and 5se, and i dont get cutouts. 5se is also larger band than 560, at least on my head. no cutsout either

I got two unlucky hifiman cables from adorama.
One was on the 560, the other on the 400i.
In a certain point of their headphone productions, they outsourced too many components, without the proper control/oversight.

i dont blame you. i also use strictly 3rd party cables for all headphones for that reason
Considering going from a Beyerdynamic DT880 SE 600 ohm to these, any comparisons? More than anything I can't stand sibilance and would like clean deep bass without muddying the rest of the response up too much. Mainly watch anime and listen to electronic/game/chiptune music.
