I bought a midback Cosm with leaf arms last fall and I really like it. Previously used a Topstar Open Art at home, have briefly tried my brother's Embody, and short stints with the Aeron.
Even so, an off lease Aeron beats just about any new office chair.
i had an aeron for years. did a lot of reading before i bought it, and i think they suck. i kept waiting for it to get really comfortable. i started having a sore back, so i finally sold it. put it on craig's list, and i got like 6 calls in a couple hours. i guess others out there also think this is a good chair. i dont. now i have a padded chair from the depot, and no more sore back

Neither these nor the one in the OP are the updated model of the Aeron chair, correct?
The OP's post is the remastered version of the Aeron, but $742.90 gets you the most barebones version of it, that in my opinion is not worth getting. The reason I want an Aeron is because it's highly adjustable and to get the new posturefit SL that comes with the remastered version. The mesh in the remastered looks much better than the older chairs (especially the heavily used ones at my old office), and the color is lighter (not so black anymore, more like gray).
You can buy an "open box" remastered Aeron from Madison Seating, but without the posturefit SL (only available models are with the basic lumbar support), so I haven't taken the plunge. These will run you about $600 for open box but with a third party warranty. No luck for me so far trying to find anyone selling one locally on CL, so unless you're in SF, you probably won't find any remastered ones out there.
