I am looking at this to power my laptop. Question: If my laptop can be powered via USB C, is better to get a USB C Powerdrive power bank or use one like this which is an A/C powered battery bank?

USB-C because it's DC. DC to AC conversion isn't 100% efficient.
This thing doesn't appear to generate power at all. Despite being called a "solar generator," you have to separately purchase a compatible solar panel. I'm not surprised it gets an F on Fakespot[fakespot.com].

Yeah, you're not getting a solar panel and a 167Wh for $100 man.
Your hodgepodge of various off-brand components comes to $65 and for the extra $40 I'd rather buy a quality product from a trusted company, instead of jimmy-rigging things together in your example. But enjoy your frugality.

You could buy this $40 battery pack [amazon.com], this $17 inverter [amazon.com], and a $6 cigarette lighter adapter [amazon.com] for not much more than half the price of this thing and have the same energy storage and 50% more power output. And you can jump start cars with the battery pack as an added bonus.
