Is the bluetooth battery good for anything other than ensuring your battery isn't charged when you are ready to use it?
It has some anti-theft features. You can lock the battery, or set it to lock if it's out of range of your phone. It can also track the battery via the app. Works kind of like Tiles, so if you mark it lost and other people have the app (what are the odds of that, but still) and come in range of the battery, it will ping the battery location to your app. It's not GPS enabled or anything so you have to rely on you or someone with the application installed on their phone getting close enough to the battery to find it.

It can give you some other info on the battery, like how long till charged, number of charge cycles, and battery health. You can also lock the battery so no one else can use it, identify the battery, make it beep to locate it. Mostly for jobsite type uses, but more than just seeing battery charge.
The battery itself also has more communication feaures for Octane tools that make them more efficient.
Overall, if you're new to the Ridgid platform, might as well go with these and the octane tools, but theres not too much reason to upgrade to these just for the sake of upgrading.
