Sure, a Toyota Camry will get you the same place a Mercedes E Class can, it's just a matter of how much you enjoy the ride there. The quality difference between the TV you bought and the one on this deal is huge but to some people that doesn't matter much.
Sometimes I cannot tell if people are genuinely clueless or just trolling.
Aside from a little faster processor and a few more settings (very minor), the biggest difference is the inputs. The C9 has HDMI 2.1 which can handle 4k content at 120 hz. However, the amount of content and/or devices can output that currently are essentially non-existent. C9 may age better as media changes, but currently the differences are extremely minor.
Biggest change is HDMI 2.1 support. Variable refresh rate also which is great if you play PC games and have a powerful enough rig to utilize it. Imo you're essentially future proofing with this tv.

if its an important feature to you, the biggest difference is the Airplay 2 support. Hopefully it comes to the 2018 versions but as of now is only been announced for 2019 models.
I'm wondering if it's an error and they'd ship the C8.
I have a friend waiting on the C9 because of the wireless speakers, so I sent him this. that might be worth it for him, but the difference would buy a reasonable soundbar.

Lol there is no such thing as "future proofing."
