i've had the USB hub for a couple years now and it's working well. the buttons on mine are sensitive and i've accidentally cut the power on unintended devices.
edit: a word
I've had the 7 dollar one for about a year and a half, and it still works great. I've had one USB connection powered on for an entire year straight with no problems.

I picked up one of the little hubs on a similar deal last year and it's held up good. The buttons are well made and have a crisp, satisfying click. The lighting is subtle. The only drawback is the short cord.

The hubs are great for Arduino development since you can turn off the USB ports while making changes instead of unplugging.

+1ing the thing. I've had the one with the power adapter for a year or so, and it has been excellent. I've used non-powered versions (not this brand) before, and they do not always work, I guess the power demand is too high for them. This one with the adapter works perfectly! (Mine is currently connected to an external hard drive, my mouse and keyboard, a Jabra 410 and Yoda.)
