Yes, there are 2 ways to do for this desk top.

1. M.2 SSD or
2. 2.5" SSD

You can get 500 or 512 GB for around $60 ~ 70

Just open the box and install at open slot for M.2 and put the screw in.

Then, use software to come with the SSD to clone the HD to SSD. Change BIOS to boot from SSD.

Installing the hardware only take 5 min if you are experienced. 30 min if you want to be very careful.

Software migration might take some more time. 30 min if you are experienced. 60 ~ 90 min if you want to understand and be careful.

M.2 - instruction

not a 1:1 but here's as close as I could get on PCPP

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4pFfXP

it's close. Buying parts will generally get you better quality but will incur price increases compared to Dell's OEM purchasing power and scale.

Personally I'd build it. With an SSD. Or get the ACER deal for 630 with the 8400 and 1060.
can you elaborate?

If you go through some rebate site, you can get additional 15% cash back.
If you're referring to e-b8s, they're no longer offering 15%.

Wow this is a solid deal at $699, and insane if you can get 15% cash back. Toss in a SSD and you'll have a very capable video editing computer for cheap.

silly question, been out of the pc market for a while.
How does the speed of this processor compare to this old r3 one
P2P0V1Module, Processor, I7-2600, 3.4, 8, SNB, AUR3
Likely going to be replacing this r3 soon

Personally I would go with the Acer nitro that is on sale regularly for $630 on BH photo and urlhasbeenblocked. For $70 less you get a stronger graphics card, almost comparable CPU, faster ram (but 4 GB less) and an ssd. And no tax for most. You can add more ram and an HDD to make it a much better machine than what this is. The slow ram, no ssd and weaker GPU completely kill this deal.
