for example current line has 600 minutes that expire in six months. After transferring you would have 1800 minutes that expire in 12 months not in 18 months however I did this about 3 years ago and somehow my minutes were set to expire in 2031 so you might get lucky.

You might be correct been awhile since I did this. I might have it backwards where you cant activate this line and then transfer the service date to your current account.

So in reality this works for a lot of people. Like sometimes couples will have one phone unlimited and the other just used to connect the two while shopping or whatever.
The data is nearly triple what they used to do. 1.2 GB.
Also this is a good price. Before had to buy a phone to get 1200 minutes and a year for perhaps as low as $40 but usually $60 or more.
Looks like the normal price will be $60 and this is a sale price. The sims are a dollar and it must cost them more than that to ship them.
As to the phone you can get a Samsung S7 for under $90 on ebay. If it has a spot or line on the display for $40 or so. 32 GB data and 4 GB Ram and a very decent camera. The Active is good if you want a strong phone and the battery is a bit larger. AT&T unlocked.
Edit. Used. Not new.
Edit 2: Unlimited carryover. So you get this added to your plan if you have it. You will just need an unlocked phone for the sim card.
