This is correct. Tracfone is only for light users. With Google Hangouts and WiFi, one can still can get a lot done with this plan.

All depends on your usage. personally I use most of my data on wifi so I would rather have 3 GB to use over a year instead of 250 mb a month where I might only use 100 mb one month and the next I need 1 GB for traveling.

Not a problem, so many see a deal like this & have no idea they have options. My neighbors think their Verizon plan is a great deal for 2gb a month - they pay twice what I do for Tracfone service using Verizon - still have a boatload of data they will never use since they're always at home or on wifi. People have options if they just do the research.

Tracfone is a nightmare customer service wise. I gave up on them.

I still think Red Pocket's $60 annual plan is the better choice but obviously it depends on your use case and scenario. One thing I can certify is that RP has much better customer service.

Is the Net10 $240 plan a discount from their usual rates? Looks like Verizon compatibility is included in Net10, which would make it cheaper than the similar Red Pocket plan which charges extra for Verizon.

To simplify for those that have never done it - It's basically a BYOP sim kit with minutes included. Go online to your TF account, choose activate, choose keep current number. any unlocked phone will work & is (IMO) a better choice since you get to use an updated phone, it's basically a Bring Your Own Device 3 way sim package with minutes added. Mine will go in new Pixel 3a.

currently I am using Tracfone using their locked device/LG-phone with 1 year service included which was bought as a bundle expires June-2019.
Can I buy this and add it to above phone/service to extend for one year ?
I don't remember adding any SIM I had to just activate the phone - its verizon/tracfone service
