Haiku C - Costco 52" smart ceiling fan by Big Ass Fans incl S&H $550

$550.00
+12 Deal Score

The Haiku C looks to be a Costco exclusive bundle that includes the white Haiku L fan with wi-fi for $549.00 with free s&h.

Otherwise, the Haiku L normally retails for $688. However, the Haiku L no longer includes standard wifi; and wifi is a $50 option. The Haiku L is currently discounted 20% at the bigassfans website until May 31, 2019 (or $550 + $50 wifi upgrade).

I've owned a white Haiku L for a few years & bought it when wifi was a standard feature & the ceiling fan retailed for $475. I've wanted to get a second fan ever since, and this Costco exclusive bundle is the closest I've seen to the original launch features & price.

The Haiku Home app functions include fan speed (specifically controlled from 1-7); light brightness (specifically controlled from 1-16); Woosh Mode that simulates a breeze; and an Automated Schedule to program events for any specific day of the week. In other words, you can automate fan speed & a timer for the lights to come on at specific hours.

Below is the Costco description:

Haiku's signature design elements, energy efficiency, and effectiveness make this fan a functional work of art. Each Haiku C ceiling fan is hand-balanced to ensure the fan won't wobble or squeak. All Haiku fans are then tested in a state-of-the-art sound chamber to ensure silent operation at any speed. Control with the included remote or connect the Haiku C to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or the free mobile app.

Features:
- Universal Mount Suitable for Flat or Sloped Ceilings
- Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
- Remote Control Included
- Smart App Control Available via Free Mobile Download
- For Indoor Use Only

According to their Facebook page they seem to have two new fans coming out soon. I'm really crossing my fingers it's a more affordable option

The price increases are real... 3 years ago this fan was $450 (https://www.zdnet.com/article/hai...ass-money/). I'd almost be able to convince myself to get it at $450 (still expensive!) if I had choice of color, but $550 and locked into all white does not seem appealing.

Love my L model, have the SenseMe wall switches that work with Ecobee (can find on eBay now, they don't make anymore).

As well as a few if6 their lights they don't make anymore.

The irony is a 52" fan is not big. It's a standard size fan. The larger the fan, the more important manufacturing precision becomes, which can justify a higher price (a 65" fan the wobbles aisn't a good deal). So, I can justify this price for a large fan but not a 52"

Installed this today only to find out there is no light! Called them and these special models do not physically support a light.

Welp, bought 3 of them but I guess it's time to return them

Deal is back at Costo.COM [costco.com]

Same price as back in May, sale is most likely limited to the week. Larger 60inch is also available but at 1199, not for the faint at heart.
