Yeah, for about $1500 for the 5.0 system (no subs), that's a helluva start to a HT system. Plug and play your favorite subs and you're off to the races. Still completely satisfied with mine 3 years later.

It's basically mini version of 580/590 that have been going on sale a lot on SD. Apparently, 530s are great for desktop usage and produce great sounds. It has been discontinued-ish? for a while and a lot of enthusiasts have been after this pair. I say discontinued-ish, because no retailers were selling these. I guess it is not really discontinued anymore. I am not sure what the price is now, but some people opted in for paying more than MSRP just to buy used.

Owned 590's and have missed them ever since the day i sold them. These 530's have been particularly hard to come by. Hard not to recommend any speaker from this family.

Would love to know how the 550s pair with the 590s. I've got the 590s but have been holding out for the 560 sub but it seems like it's not available anymore...

I've been looking for these for a couple years to go with my 580 fronts and 520c center. The JBL 5-series are great speakers and I have wanted rears to match. I almost gave in a couple of times and got 2 more 520c center channels to use as rears. The tweeters in this series are outstanding and make any of the speakers sound great regardless of the low range drivers.

Anyone have recommendations for free-standing speaker stands to go with these? My current rears are wall-mounted and that's not going to work for these.
