Great deal. Make sure to turn off recurring billing to just be charged the $1.

Try to find some cheap XBOX Live subs to maximize the deal BEFORE YOU BUY IT. Ultimate combines the amount of months you have left on Live + Game Pass.

This is not a glitch. This is how it's meant to work. I am in the preview program and can confirm.

Worked for me just now. I was hesitant at first as I read through all the comments. Last year I purchased a 24 Month code from Costco which expired in August 2020. Ive never owned a game pass membership. I just finished purchasing this and now it says I have game pass ultimate until 7/2020. Just in case anyone is hesitant, it does work. Right as you redeem it takes you to your subscription page(if you do this on mobile) and it says manage payments options and you can turn off recurring payments. If you do, it will explain your membership expires on so and so date. This is awesome! Thank you!

Sweet deal. Thank you. CDkeys took about 10 mins for key to be ready for download but worked. The conversion worked flawlessly just now. Also only had Gold (no Game Pass) going into conversion.

You lost a month? You should of gained a month as this pass is a one month trail.

If you have MS rewards, there is one for 1 month free Game Pass. Redeem that first. If prompted, allow automatic renewal for an additional month. Add another year of Xbox live then redeem this offer. It's what I did and I'm good until 2021. It added the game pass months to the end of my subscription.

Edit: Tried to link to reward but seems it is tied to an account and doesn't work correctly. Just search for it under "Redeem"

I don't think you understand it. You have no proof that we can switch back over to Gold once our Ultimate subscription runs out. It makes sense that you can, but there's no way for you to definitively know.
1. Another user in this thread stated that they were able to cancel their GPU and revert back to Gold because they didn't want the uncertainty of Game Pass not improving.

2. Think about this logically, when someone's GPU runs out due to having re-occurring billing turned off. Does it make sense for Microsoft to force you to only be able to continue using your account by paying the GPU price? We don't know for sure, like you said, but more thank likely, no. Regardless, of you saying there's no way for me to definitively know other than what an Xbox rep has stated, there's no inverse either.

I just tried adding 24 months gold and it wanted to convert to 8 months ultimate.
This combined with what a Redditor found [reddit.com] seems to confirm code conversion is a little arbitrary. Here's what I've seen from folks so far:
  • 1 month Gold = $10 MSRP = 2/3 of a month of Ultimate
  • 3 months Gold = $25 MSRP = 1 month of Ultimate
  • 6 months Gold = $40 MSRP = ??? months of Ultimate
  • 12 months Gold = $60 MSRP = 4 months of Ultimate
  • 24 months Gold = ??? MSRP = 8 months of Ultimate

Based on the follow response, the calculations for 1:1 is correct.
xgp ends in 2 months, add the 1 month from the xgpu for $1 -> 3 months.

xbl ended in 1/05/2020 and now gets 3 months added (seems like MS rounds up to our favour).

Based on your statement, it seems like you already have xgpu and are trying to add an xbl card to your account?
Without knowing your end dates and current subscriptions, I can only surmise that you might be hitting the 36 month limit.

I know xbl had a hard stop at 36 months and I wouldn't be surprised if that same limit applies to xgpu.
I never had xgp, but I'm sitting on 2 6month cards and wondering if it's worth it for me to convert to xgpu.

I just ordered it!

I had Xbox Live Gold until 01/05/2020
I had Xbox Game Pass 3 month Trail ending 8/1/2019

Converted to Game Pass Ultimate for $1 and now my Xbox GP Ultimate sub ends 04/05/2020

Won't have to buy Gears 5 and Halo Infinite now since it'll be covered under game pass later this fall!

1. I was that user, and I wasn't able to revert. I had to chat up Microsoft and tell them there was a billing issue.

2. I have a 15 year XBL streak that I don't want to lapse because I couldn't switch back to Gold before my Ultimate ends. Might not seem like a big deal to you, but it's a big deal to a lot of people.

The website says this:

All conversions to Ultimate are final: Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Ultimate membership back to a previous membership.

This is not a glitch people, it's the day of their E3 conference. It's what marketing people call a promotion and it's a damn good one too
Marketing people see as promotion. Strategy people see as a way to have all these people paying $180 instead of $40 in 2 years, with no way back.
I'm not in for it...

Nope, wasn't at 36 months. Conversion for live gold to ultimate is 24 months = 8 months ultimate

From that linked Reddit thread:

"Converting your code Redeeming your Prepaid Xbox Live Gold 3 Month code will automatically convert to 1 month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and will be added to your current Xbox Game Pass Ultimate account."

Have you seen evidence of 3:2 conversion for 3 month codes?
