I rest my case..
Those who ran to catch this $1 deal will see themselves paying $180/year when the pre-paid is over. That or not have XBL at all.
Once converted to Ultimate, there's no going back to Gold alone.
Unfortunately who did it is reticent to accept the mistake (except if you really enjoy Gamepass games and won't play only because that's what's in there), and stubborn stating that Microsoft is so generous as to give subscription for $1 deliberately without a counterpart.

If you're realizing that made a mistake, instead of keep replying here, try to call them and get it reverted while is fresh. A guy got it... Maybe they're accepting now, but I don't think they'll accept once it's effectively implemented.
Not sure why you couldn't just let your Ultimate lapse/expire for a day, then add Gold/Live. Assuming both are still around then.

The last line you quoted literally says you can resub to either service or ultimate. If game pass is still $15 I'll just go back to gold.

Except the language quoted suggests the exact opposite?

"How to cancel Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Since Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines both Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold, it's important to remember that once you cancel you'll lose both. Any games you've installed as part of Game Pass will no longer work, and any of the benefits of Gold, such as online multiplayer, will no longer apply until you have an active subscription again to EITHER service or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate."

So after cancelling (or expiring), you are able to get a subscription to "either" service or Ultimate.

You can go back to gold after it expires. Read the last line.

You lose gold and game pass benefits after it's cancelled until you have an active subscription to either service OR xbox game pass ultimate. Idk how to explain it any better.

I have a one year Xbox live gold digital code I accidentally purchased via Costco.com. I was trying to get the full 36 months but it extended just past it so the code is still fresh if you want it.

Quick Question,

Stay with me please. Roll

I am subscribed to Gold till November 9th or so.

I have a 12 month Gold code, a three month Gold code, a three month Game Pass code. If I activate all these. "Buy" one more year of Gold (with points) and THEN!!! do this deal should I be Ultimate just short of three years?

Ty. Ty. Ty!!! In advance. *wink* As many thoughts that are out there on the matter are appreciated.

What are you talking about??

""Any games you've installed as part of Game Pass will no longer work, and any of the benefits of Gold, such as online multiplayer, will no longer apply until you have an active subscription again to EITHER service or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate""

It says right there that you need to have an active subscription to EITHER service for them to work again..........OR, resubscribe to Ultimate to have both perks reactivated.

Honestly it's 100 games I either own already or don't want to play. Same with EA subscription. I have been a subscriber to both in the past
Same thing here... I prefer to spend the money with games that I really want to play.

Cdkey will sell you as many as you want. Xbox will only let you stack 2 years.
First part of your statement is true (cdkeys will sell as many as you want). But the second part is NOT true. I just stacked a full 3 years (all 3 codes bought from cdkeys). The important part is that you have to refuse the extra 1 month for recurring billing. If you accept the extra month, then your total goes over 3 years. While redeeming, just uncheck that option for all three redemptions, and they will all go through.

It seems MS is changing their business model for the sub. Right now, people don't buy gamepass enough(evident by the freqent $1 gamepass offers of late).
They are motivating players to get on ultimate, then the next logical move from a business standpoint will be to reduce the ultimate price to the current gamepass price, so people will get both gamepass and live for the price of gamepass; this way they'll have improved the sales...

Yes. It will stack to which membership goes the longest. So honestly all you need to redeem is Xbox live. You could just the sell gamepass code separately
