As for the i1 Display Pro - - it beats them all, hands down. It's more consistent, all around better and a lot faster. It also works better with 3rd party software than the other two. The ColorMunki will get the job done but the i1 is a better long term investment.
The xrite has a BIG lens on the front. This allows it to measure Very deep Black levels.
The Lens is Acrylic, so be careful with handling.
Whereas the Spyder 5 series meters will Clip measurements below 0.3-ish nit.
Which means the Spyder5 is limited to IPS panels (or any panel) which have a high black point, If you attempted to measure a VA panel or Oled , The spyder would not do that reliably.
The NEW Spyder X is better in this regard, but software support is spotty, and It still has a problem with Contrast ratio. For example even on a basic 4000:1 contrast ratio panels Typical VA TV, the SpyderX will meter out to 3000:1, That's flat out wrong . So again it still has Dark measurement issues despite the fact it it too was upgrade with a lens. The bundled software is still using software compensation to get the dark values. Experts who've taken the new spyderx apart and taking a look at the components, basiacally , the photon count is too low on the sensors, and the collection time is already max.
Long story short, X-rite is WAY BETTER , not even by a little, by a significant margin.
Of course, if you're only going to calibrate IPS panels or TN @ 120cd/m^2 and above, the Spyder is fine..
The X-rite i1display PRO has been as low as $135 last black friday, this may be a fluke, as there was a 20% urlhasbeenblocked coupon which stacked with the Adorama Discount, SO while this is a good deal, the i1dP is a better buy if you can possibly wait for a BF discount.

It's significantly better than the spyder.

The colormunki is hardware limited to read slower than the i1dp.
The i1dp also has a higher validation, (but not useful for tv calibration, UNLESS you also own a spectrophotometer which start at $2000 Used).

The Colormunki is also blocked by commercial software, and as I said, I want to use Calman. I have been using a Colormunki with free software since 2011.
Calman is several times more expensive than this hardware. Are you sure you won't get something nicer?
The i1Display and Colormunki are good meters, and Calman Home will be priced at $145.
