Editor's Notes & Price Research

Visible uses Verizon's 4G LTE Network which includes Wi-Fi calling (coverage map). Members who signed up prior to this promotion end date will continue to receive unlimited data. Also, Mobile hotspot speeds capped at 5 Mbps and limited to one tethered device at a time and members are reporting video streaming is throttled. Refer to forum thread for additional information and discussion. -slickdewmaster

Normally has a 5Mbps speed cap. Don't know when the deal expires.

When it expires, the speed cap will be re-engaged, but only for new members after that point. Anyone who gets uncapped speeds from today will get to keep them as long as they remain a Visible subscriber.

There's a phone compatibility checker:
https://www.visible.com/compatibility

Apple
iPhone 6, 6s, SE, 7, 8, X, XS, XS Max, and XR
select iPhone SE and 7 models are incompatible, so to be sure, use the compatibility checker

Samsung
Galaxy S9 and S9+ SE
double check by submitting your IMEI to our compatibility checker

Google
Pixel 3, 3a, 3XL, and 3aXL

ZTE
Visible R2

Caution Buying - THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH COMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS - BILLING IS A MESS - NOT WORTH THE HASSLE AT ALL IF YOU USE THE PHONE FOR BUSINESS OR IF YOU NEED 100% RELIABILITY
PORTING IS EITHER VERY BAD OR WORKS GREAT. IT'S ALMOST A COINFLIP. IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOSE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN THEIR PORTING LIMBO. MORE LIKELY IF THERE IS A PROBLEM, EXPECT 5-14 DAYS FOR THE PORT TO COMPLETE

Visible customer service is overwhelmed because of the deals they are offering, can take hours to reply to you.

No 1X / 3G service, no domestic roaming, high latency/ping, heavy network deprioritization with and without network congestion.

Video streaming is throttled as well as tethering. Just an fyi

Note there are reports of Visible not working on the Pixel 3 series if you are running the Android Q Beta, you may have to downgrade to activate.

https://www.reddit.com/r/android_..._the_beta/

Visible also has problems [reddit.com] validating addresses [twitter.com] and they have no interest in fixing these issues.

You get the $20 credit on the next month's bill. You get charged $40 for the first month. If you're doing a swap for the ZTE Visible R2, you get a return label in the box with the SIM card (separate).

$20 OFF FIRST MONTH REFERRAL CODES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON SLICKDEALS OR BY PM!

My sister is trying this carrier out and it's been terrible. Every conversation I have with her cuts in and out and loses reception. The worst quality I've ever heard. I wouldn't recommend it in the Northern NJ area.
It's get deprioritized over postpaid. Not usable when it's congested. Just like all Verizon prepaid.
The offer is valid for a limited time, but the uncapped speed is permanent for as long as you remain a member. When the offer expires, the speed cap will be re-engaged, but only for new members after that point. Anyone who gets uncapped speeds from today will get to keep them as long as they remain a Visible subscriber.

That's fine for my infrequent usage. What about device support? Last I knew they had just gone from being iPhone-only to supporting only the latest Samsung (that they conveniently sold at not very good pricing). Any better on that front? My family's all Moto, so there's no reason for it not to work on Verizon.

Any experience in that area with regular Verizon services compared to the pains she's experiencing with this?

So, no - I see Verizon (who owns Visible) still hasn't changed their control freak ways. Thanks for the response, reps given for the quick & thorough answer.

I stopped paying attention to Visible a while ago for this very reason. Many of the posts on the Reddit sub were complaints - far too many for my comfort.

l'll have to check out the Reddit. Don't know why service would be difference since it's the same Verizon towers.
