If your vacuum flask sweats with cold contents make sure the cap is tight, and if it still doesn't keep ice after 20 hours closed exchange it. There'll be underperformers in any run, and I always recommend the overnight ice test to quickly weed out defects, and why I like shopping b&m for these. Once the bottle passes a 20 hour ice water test it should be good as long as it isn't damaged. Fortunately Costco is great about returns too so there's that bit of safety. However I have dropped both of mine on cement floors from 4 feet uphalf full of water and except for small dents the seal is still like new.

I also bought a bottle holder for $18 that adds padding and a pocket, mine is gonovate sleeve 40 but there are a few brands that sell similar, just make sure it is for the 40oz double wall bottles.

My coworker has a Takeya. I put one of these side by side with it, they are identical aside from paint and the silicone band on the cap.

optical illusion! actual issue is double wall insulation quality.

good suggestion, i have ice in all 4 for about 6 hrs and so far so good. will check again tomorrow afternoon. will be using these on hiking during vacation next month.

definitely do a squeeze test on these before buying as some are more flimsy than others. case is good idea but too much..

this holder might be better option for this bottle given the price Wink

The previous version carried by Costco had a rigid lid (not the hinged loop of this one) and was better quality. I bought these thinking they were the same ones but am disappointed. They're not bad, just not as good.

I used plain neoprene sleeves before but I was looking to carry a few other work EDC bits like a spoon, floss, tweezers, nail clippers and file, etc. so I was really happy to find the one I got even for $18 since it also has a zipper pocket.

This is a different brand but it is almost the same build [amazon.com].

Following up on the ice test .. Al 4 bottles are water after about 15 hours....last night there was still ice after 6 hrs.
granted bottles were warmish from sitting in the car and only had a cup of ice in each bottle. Water temp was still cold in the low 40s. All in all good performance.

Update...tried another test...filled ice half way while the bottle was already chilled state from previous test. It's now been 25hrs and about half the ice is still.left. so it seems my previous test did not have enough ice and chilled bottle likely helped.

My experience after having these bottles for over a year is that they're junk. Do not effectively keep water cool for any more than an hour outside during the summer. I've had many other brands (Contigo, Yeti, Ozark Trail, Camelback, etc) and this is by far the worst performing.

These suck.... The lid is not insulated and gets significant condensation. Returning mine 100%. Anyone know of an insulated straw lid that works for these?

They are not a Takeya "copy"....Takeya And Thermo Flask are one in the same. The older version of these bottles from 2 years back had both names "Takeya Thermo Flask". This year, when one of the new bottles I got had a lid issue, customer service actually sent me a Takeya lid instead....solidifying they are the same company, still.
