I would jump on it if I didn't have a campchef.

I also noticed a nice warehouse deal for a Z Grill @ $276

I have the 700 and I'm not sure about temp changes and that sort of thing. What I am sure about is I am able to make great tasting food using it lol. Tri tips, steak, chicken, simple burgers, everything comes out amazing. I don't care what brand it is, but I know everyone should have a pellet smoker in their arsenal

Exact same price at Walmart, to the penny.

Anyone comment on how accurate the bad reviews are?? I'd like to get one but don't want the hassle of trying to return.

100% agree! it imparts nice smoky flavor like charcoal and is maybe even easier than gas. no direct flame so you can use it like an oven. in our heatwave last week i cooked all our dinners on it. even stuff like frozen pizzas work great if you cook them at a little lower heat than recommended. dunno that i need smoked baked deserts (didn't try that) but so far everything i have cooked has been fantastic. don't miss my gas or charcoal grill.

I have a larger one. Works as well as the Traeger I had. My advise, buy the largest one you can afford.

The 440 is kinda small I think...been looking at the 700 as a minimum...

That Amazon warehouse deal has been there for a while, but I worry about "large cosmetic imperfections on front...[etc]" I take that to mean that the powder coat has likely been damaged--not a great thing with the heat it will be exposed to.

I think I'll wait for walmart markdowns on the 700 or xl, or the 820 Pro at lowes to go on sale again.

Thanks tho, for the heads up OP!

I have the same, and couldn't say it better.

Last two big items I've gotten from AW has been a cluster f**k ... both items missing things, etc....

You can order from Walmart if they are price matching. Would be easier to return if you have a location close to you

I've had great luck with AW but the price difference (about $80) on the acceptable unit vs a very good one leaves a lot to be desired for that deal. Not sure I'd take this particular risk.

Same as other posted. I have a large one and it works great.

People watch and monitor the temperatures on these to see how they perform and they may have greater variation than the more expensive Traeger options, but I've never had any issues with mine producing quality food.

The temperature at the sensor probe or in different areas of the BBQ may fluctuate more on these, but if you aren't trying to be a professional BBQ champion (and if you are, you probably have a better smoker) you'll be fine.

I always monitor my temperature on the meat and the air in the smoker with an external thermometer and having high temp fluctuations were very rare and only in odd weather in my experience. Mine can swing 10-15* for a couple minutes, but that's not a big deal to me and it doesn't happen constantly through the cook.

Damn, I got the classic from Walmart a few days ago, not going to go through the hassle of returning, great deal. I used it twice already and worked great!

As for reviews on temp changes on the new one I noticed it starts up hot and than slowly cools to set temperature with a +-5/10 degree range. Made my steaks last night like a champ.

Great deal would get if I didn't have a pellet grill already.
