Only concern is the non-HP ink refills are priced at ~$30 for one full set. Just go look at Amazon. So in the long run this will cost more!

It has a lot of bad reviews with set up, connectivity and cartridges running low fast

No it's not required.
But I did chat with HP support just now and confirmed that this printer qualifies for the free 15 page per month plan. Gonna pick one up today.

What do you mean, free 15 page per month plan? They will give free ink if we only print 15 pages a month?
Thank you for any info

Yes -- with certain printers, HP offers a free 15 page/month Instant Ink plan. Since I don't print at home too often (and can use the printer at work) this is perfect for me.

Just picked this printer up as well and I bet I print just a few pages a month. How do you sign up for the free ink?

Here's the link with more info https://instantink.hpconnected.com

Once you get your printer set up and connected to your online account, login and sign up for the free plan. Note that when I did the initial setup (via their phone app) it didn't give me the option to select the free plan -- I had to sign up via the website after setting it up.

Are you sure this is instant ink eligible? It says "HP instant ink eligible" and says not included. Just curious if anyone got the free plan with this exact printer. Thanks.
