If you need ram buy asap. Its possible ram prices may go up sharply soon due to japan not supplying key material to samsung and hynix due to the korea/japan trade war that just started

Those 2 companies control well over half the global memory market

Someone give me a reason not to buy this. I've been waiting on a decent rgb set but if I can get 32gb for the same price I was going to spend on 16gb (albeit without the rgb), why not? Anything bad about the actual memory itself?

Nevermind... Sold out ☹️

Is adata considered a first tier company now? Are these as reliable as crucial or other name brand sticks?
ADATA been around for decades, so I'm not sure where you're going with this. Crucial (Micron) is actually a RAM manufacturer. ADATA is not and buys it from other companies, including Micron. I'm also not sure I would consider Micron a company that makes more reliable products, as I've been burned many times by them. I used to own the Ballistix DDR2, that was notorious for failure and returned them too many times to count, before giving up on their products.

I've had bad experiences with adata products before, having failed flash drives and SSDs, but that was a few years back so I was wondering if their manufacturing processes/quality have gotten better. I realize that RAM sticks are a different business, though in my mind they've always been "lower quality" than the bigger brand names - was wondering if that's changed in more recent times.

In either case, I bought a pair, and will memtest them just in case.

you can chart RAM prices.. its not opinion based

It's like he doesn't understand that supply/demand is also a factor between chip suppliers and memory manufacturers.

Korean manufacturers typically only keep 1-2 month supply [anandtech.com] of the high purity hydrogen flouride on hand. Export reviews from Japan are expected to take up to 3 months. They don't have a lot of inventory. They are trying to purchase from Japan.

I'm talking about ram inventory, not its materials. Manufactures have a lot of ram already, so their price will not go up sharply.
Also, "3 months" is just an expectation. Manufactures try to prepare for the worst case, but thgngs may not go so worse.

Dear JakeW3302 and slothv:

I bought these sticks and after 3 hours of sheer madness, finally got both of them to work in my Dell 5675. Out of the box, with the heat spreaders, there is virtually no room between them nor the CPU cooler fan, and neither one worked at all. Not even recognized on the first few boot attempts. Also had to lay the DT flat as it took a lot of pressure to push these in and I needed a screwdriver to pop the tabs to pull them out.

One time I chose to enter the BIOS at bad boot up, but on this Dell M-board, nothing pertinent can be altered. However, the sticks were then recognized - again, only with the Kingston in place in slot 1 or 2 (only 2 slots). Trying one at a time with the original Kingston 8GB 2400 MHz DDR4, eventually either one of the new sticks would work in either ram slot - but only if the Kingston was in the other slot. Did the boot up memory testing during boot failures and no memory errors. Also did the windows memory diagnostic - no errors. Multiple tries with only a single Adata stick or both totally failed.

Then, after reading some net postings, I wiped off the Adata connectors with a cloth, wiping firmly. Each stick worked fine to follow. A few boot attempts later, after going through the BIOS entry due to memory change alert / failure, 1 stick worked independently. Then I added the other on the next boot. Success !!

So yes, with the Dell 5675 and the 7PR60 motherboard AMD Ryzen Summit Ridge CPU, Wistron & Foxconn, the Adata DDR4 8GB x 2 Gammix D10 3000 MHz PC4-2400 AD4U300038G 16-DS10 CL 16-20-20 (not 16-18-18) 1.20V or 1.35V worked. Timing shows as 20-19-19-43 tRC 62 Clock 1330.x MHz (2666 MHz) Dual channel (via CPU-X and HWinfo)

Thx for providing the timings and I will post more details on the Dell forums.

Well,
I spoke to soon, after a shutdown overnight I have given up on running both ADATA sticks at the same time, and currently even the single Kingston 8gb is not working. Will toy with this later and likely return the ADATAs. Such is life.....
