Oh gosh why do you continue writing your username after your post 😱
Plus taxes and fees. If you live in IL like I do, taxes will be like $8 extra per month. There is always a $5 e911 fee plus other bogus fees.

I activated account. Where do I add refill cards? The make a payment option gives CC and checking account as the only options.

The AT&T prepaid refill card just applies total value to the account.

Update: Applying refill cards is good enough

So were you able to apply the refill cards? Is there an option for that?

Didn't see anything on the sim card that says to activate within 7 days. Where did you find this out?

Does anyone know if I can request this prepaid service to be activated on an ESIM? AT&T site says ESIM is only available in store.

I've never seen anything to that respect on any service TBH. I did send one SIM back about 2 weeks ago and have yet to receive a refund or get charged for activation. So, I'll call it a loss of $5 and change.

Refill cards get applied to account. But I didn't get a receipt that it was used for the plan. Confirmed it with rep that $300 was applied. Again no receipt.

Read the fine print. It's states that it activates in 7 days automatically.

They'll still charge your CC the remaining $300 + taxes. Good luck getting a refund otherwise let us know in 30 days if your account still shows up as active. They never set it up to be paid with GC's. The business logic on the back-end was setup to only charge your CC after the SIM arrives and you activate it or in 7 days automatically, whichever comes first. I saw quite a few posts already from those that paid with GC's and AT&T billed their CC anyways! Good luck man and let us know what happens in your situation!

Seesh, read the comments people, this was already answered in the treads and also indicated in the fine print! Stop being so freaking lazy. The fine print at checkout states the service auto activates in 7 days if you don't activate it sooner yourself.

Lucky you for pulling a smart move! Applause

Now comes the interesting part, wondering if the system won't somehow find your account delinquent in the next billing cycle! LMAO I'm sure the automated billing system will complain sooner or later and find a way to screw you over because the knuckleheads at AT&T never set it up to accept an alternate payment method for this promo. I'm betting I'm right on this one since the system was too stupid to understand you already paid with GC's and it still tried to charge your CC.

Keep us updated!

Successfully ported my number from H2O wireless. Total cost: Approx $295. Here is my experience.

While ordering online, I got an error saying number cannot be transferred. I called AT&T Prepaid customer service (800) 901-9878 . It looks like they are aware of online issues. The agent was ready to setup account and port over the phone. However, he needed a SIM card which I didn't have. So the next day I got the AT&T prepaid SIM card from Walmart (cost $10). I again called customer service number but this time got a different agent who said the promo is a online only and wont be able to apply over phone. I called the number again, got a new agent who was able to help. He setup my account and initiated the port. He mentioned that I need to pay $300 upfront. When i asked if I could buy refill cards and pay next day, he was ok with it. The port was confirmed in about 30 mins (Link: https://www.att.com/port/lnpEntryWeb.do). I then ordered six $50 refill cards at samsclub.com which are discounted. The total cost was approx $285. https://www.samsclub.com/p/at-t-1...roduct_1_1 Got the refill cards in email about 4 hours. In the meantime, I was also able to access AT&T prepaid online account at https://www.att.com/myprepaid . Once I got the refill cards from Sam's club, i just logged in online and refilled it. That's it!
Thanks to OP for sharing this deal and everyone for sharing their experiences! This is a very helpful forum!

Edit: I did not give my credit card to ATT in the whole process. While filling online form, I got message saying my H2O number cannot be transferred, so I did not submit. Everything was done over phone with customer service.

It's not $300. It's $300 + taxes. Depending on your zip code your estimated up front taxes would be around $30 so you should buy another $30 card. Read my comments to others, they will still charge your CC even though you'll fund the account via GCs. Good luck with the fight and let us know your outcome!

I did not give my credit card out (updated my post to clarify that). As I mentioned, my total cost was $295,, no taxes nothing. :-).
