CVS Info:

First of all, you will need a CVS ExtraCare card. This is obtained easily at any store at the register. Some will ask you to fill out the form then and there, others will just give you the card and ask you to return the form later.

Once you have the card, you can now start CVSing

The biggest thing to understand is that CVS uses a promotional program called "ExtraCare Bucks" (commonly abbreviated as ECBs.) These print out on your receipt immediately once you purchase an item offering them; almost like an instant-rebate you get at the register. You can turn around and use them anytime on almost anything in the store, except for alcohol, cigarettes, and gift cards.

Often, CVS advertises items as "Free after ECB" – For example, throughout the month of November, CVS has Crest Pro Health Whitening Toothpaste in 4.2 oz size, for free after ECB. The cost is $3.49, but you get $3.49 back instantly on your receipt. The best part is that there are often coupons available that can actually help you earn money… like for the above toothpaste, there are $1 off coupons available, meaning the item would be $2.49, but you get $3.49 in ECBs back. The limit on this toothpaste for this month is 2. So if you wanted to start off small to get into CVSing, the thing to do would be to buy one toothpaste in the first transaction (and use a coupon if you have one, so that you either pay $3.49 or $2.49 in cash), then use the $3.49 ECBs you get back from that first transaction to pay for the second tube of toothpaste, and again, receive $3.49 more in ECBs.

The trick now is to roll your ECBs so that you rarely pay more than maybe a dollar or two in tax on transactions, instead using your ECBs from previous transactions… then earning more to keep doing the same. It's a cycle (and a game/addiction to some, lol.)

How much was it for? (If you don't mind my asking). I just got mine the other day and it was $697 for a few freaking blood tests and urine sample.

i figure if you're using the turkey dogs you save 20 grams of fat per dog. that makes up the avocado (which at least is a good fat). fully loaded up you don't really miss it.

i had this for dinner just cause i didn't want a big dinner and that's what my leftovers were:

wow.. real caramelized onions, steak was not rubbery at all.. that was one of the best steak sandwiches frozen or not i've ever had
I've never tried turkey dogs. Are they pretty good? I've had the no fat hot dogs and didn't like those but I don't think they were turkey.

On Weight Watchers (The Core program) you could have avacados, as much as you liked. The trick was to stop when you were satisfied/full. I don't know if we've got those sandwiches in our store, that brand I mean. I'll have to look. You know what else is good? The Weight Watchers Quesidellas (sp). So good that even if I wasn't trying to eat healthy I'd eat them.

Grand total was $1025.28 before insurance adjusted it to 645.93. They want $75 for half of a pill. Mad WTF is that crap? In what universe does one half of one pill cost that much money!?? It wasn't gold plated or anything. Other than that, LT puked on the floor and slept when he wasn't screaming. They did nothing for him other than make sure he wasn't about to rupture his appendix.

I get to pay it all b/c of our deductible. I'm calling the hospital tomorrow to work out a payment plan. Farkers.

there's not terribly much flavor and they are about half the size. but the texture is there, and it allows me ot eat them more. i loooove hot dogs, but i can't bring myself to eat something i make thats 30 grams of fat per .. especially since i usually eat 2

I like real beef hot dogs. I don't eat them that often so when I do, I'm not skimping.

the pill isn't what costs 75. its the nurse administering it over head, and so on. i've studied the economics of health care extensively. i haven't come to a conclusion on a better situation but at least i understand the reasoning behind it.

Well I got there Thursday in the early afternoon (about 4 hours earlier than planned Blush). Couldn't beleive how much the Nashville area has changed since I lived there in the early 90's. He looks just like I pictured-only a bit taller. His dog is crazy. I met his family (they're nice) and a few coworkers. Mostly did a lot of talking and sightseeing. it was good to relax. Going back the end of next month.

Maybe next time we can meet up or something. I meant to ask you which way you were coming in.
