The GUI is just as bad. It's like late '90s web design in an angry red.

Which is unfortunate, because I have the router and like it for its features and performance.
This is a great router, but if you dont need the ROG badge get the RT version they are the exact same thing in almost all respects with the only difference being they fixed usb storage performance on this model. You will save yourself over $50ish when on sale. Attached storage on the RT version is not that fast at all, but I have a NAS so dont need to hook up hard drives to my router.

Corrected my saving price, it was refurbs that I saw for $150 at one point not brand new.

I'm not too sure this is an SD price at $270. I've seen these things go for way less.
Really? CCC is showing this as the lowest price ever. I bought it for about $5 less back in April, but that was a Warehouse price.

I grab this Rufurbished at Microcenter for around $280 including tax and 2-years replacement plan.

This is the RT version, I made a mistake refurbs were going for $150 at one point. New the lowest has been $230 before I got it for $250 over a year ago.

https://www.newegg.com/asus-rt-ac...-_-Product

I have had this router for over a year and its been rock solid, the 4x4 is great for households with a lot of devices always chattering as it can handle all the traffic flying in and out quickly.

While the GT has slightly newer hardware the performance aspects are identical.

Old post showing the $230 it has come around a few times.

Mine just died on me yesterday and I got it back in Jan 2018. Thing kept restarting and stuff. When it worked, it was solid. I was also running the AI mesh system too and the Asus BlueCave was my secondary mesh. I love Asus and I hope they can fix my issue.

I have this router, and the range is amazing.

Unfortunately it has all sorts of issues as the internet keeps dropping out in and out on some devices.

The best part is ASUS keeps patching the firmware on a regular basis and their IDS is pretty decent.

The best part of the router is that it needs to be patched frequently? I don't want a router that needs constant firmware updates to operate properly.
