Completely agreed. There is definitely some artificial Dyson pumping going on around here. I get that SD is getting an extra commission on Dyson sales but I don't understand the thumbs-down (to my '6 minutes' post) from 'regular' posters. 6 minutes vacuum time (along with hours of recharging required to gain those minutes back) is a fact people, not something I made up, and that is pretty sh*tty for a vacuum no matter how you look at it. Recall that I didn't say "Don't buy it" I said "Buyer Beware" as in PSA. Didn't even mention a ton of posts (just Google the reviews) talking about how their battery died after a year or so and the machine is a paper-weight collecting dust (not in a good way), as the battery is not removable. It is fine if you are making this overpriced toy 'front page' but this Dyson shilling and removing criticism is not an ethical business practice. Not cool.

If I remember it correctly, for V7, only the Allergy version comes with the HEPA filtering device attached on the top (The blue part that only appears on the Allergy model, if you scroll down to "Choose your model" on the page OP linked).

For those worried about run time, look at the max suction run time for the others. Our V8 has a max suction run time of around 7 mins. The V10 is similar. It's never been a problem. As far as suction goes, most of the work is done by the motor head. The suction power is secondary and is adequate for the V7, V8, and V10. I don't include the V6 because it has a different tools connector, so I won't get it.

These vacuums are so easy to use and convenient that you find yourself just grabbing it and cleaning an area real quick and then just put it back to charge. We don't really use the plug in vacuum any more.

I just bought this V7 for upstairs (thanks Op!). Yeah, run time will be 1 min less, but it'll work perfectly for how we use it. No more grabbing the unit from downstairs and having to return it.

If your looking for a vacuum that you use once a week and do the whole house at that time, these are not what you want. Look for a corded solution. We however have changed the way we clean and haven't had to use our two corded units.

I have the V8 and it's similar run time on max but 40 minutes on normal setting. You don't really need the max setting, normal is great suction. FYI max setting will not make the brush spin any faster it just increases the suction power
