No thanks. I was burned by AT&Ts grandfathered promo for Directv Now. Had a clause that basically said they could raise the rate when they wanted to.

5G won't have as much coverage area as LTE because of higher frequency band. We will have spots for 5G initially and then slowly cover block, street, town, city, state, and then whole country. Don't think because you hear 5G a lot means we are there, it's a really long roadmap which will take at least 3-4 years.

I purchased this the other day for my 2019 Ram 1500. It has worked great for me. I'm working on a remote wind farm in SD. Cell reception is horrible on my phone out here but the truck seems to get a signal just fine. Now, Im able to do all my reports in my truck.

It was previously $25 per month for non-ATT customers. I feel it's for sure worth it at $15.
This is true. GM cars have better antennas than phones. Plus diversity if your cell is on another network.

The deal is only for the vehicle with WIFI hotspot.
I just tried to price match and I'm not eligible because I have ZTE Mobley, not my car's VIN# on my account.

Just signed up for our Honda Odyssey. Entered the car's VIN number during the registration process. All I had to do was turn on the WiFi Hot Spot after starting the car. No SIM required. We have a Roku stick connected to the HDMI input on the rear entertainment system.
What year is your Odyssey? I can't seem to find my CRV, it's 2017 though.

bwahahha.. who the fark does downpayments ? Only losers.
CASH is king.
It's funny you say that because on my recent two car purchases Toyota and Lamborghini, they pushed for loans way harder and than paying in cash. I actually wanted to pay in cash in full and had the funds to do so but ended up just doing the loan for one of them because the interest was basically 0.

Of course they push for it. They make money off of it.

Check out the RV unlimited internet thread. That's exactly what people did and are doing. You can buy a OBD power adapter that you can plug in the wall to plug these into. The question is the Spark. Will it let you do that? Some of them have a GPS and will only keep working if they are moving to get around people using them as home internet.

Update: Seems the spark can't be used outside of a moving car.

Or you adapt it to be a wifi hotspot in your house.
Why would i settle for all these restrictions at home where i need max internet coverage?
Max 7 users, 22G bandwidth etc etc!

Just FYI. If your non-GM car does not come with 'connected wifi' feature, then you need to buy a $79 Harman Spark OBD-attachment-device (from AT&T) and according to AT&T Connected Car Customer Service, the monthly rate then increases to $30 a month (not eligible for $15, if you are using Harman Spark).

I had the same question until I started using mine. I have a macbook in my car and I am in IT, so instead of having to teather my phone and, then see why my teather link isn't working half the time, I use use my car wifi. My car does have to be on, but it saves me a few seconds or min of aggravation.
Would it be better/faster to just get a laptop with LTE built in? That what most "IT People" I know do

except Tesla is At&t connected car. At&t must have some sort of mass agreement here.

So what's the cheapest unlimited standalone option for data hogs?
