I'm starting a new thread since the existing one is for new line or port in.

I called Xfinity mobile customer care to ask if they are offering any promotion to existing customers to upgrade to latest iPhone 11 phones and I was informed, in no uncertain terms , that I'm eligible for $250 Visa card if I were to buy a new iPhone 11 (Max or otherwise). He even read some written promotion to confirm when I told him I was suspicious of that offer. I even pointed out their website states that a new line or a port in is required... but I was informed that is not required.

The only requirement is I will have to buy the phone at a local Xfinity store.

Recommended: Place your order for the new iPhones on or after September 20th, 2019 *IN STORE ONLY*

I wish I had known about this but I already pre-ordered under the port in method. I guess the trade-off is that you can get a $75 rebate from a Top site if you open a new line (really hoping that goes through). I guess I will still come out ahead even though I have to pay $3 to port out the google voice line and 3 months of taxes for the line (about $5 a month here).

A upgrade would definitely be easier than having to open a new line and then closing it later. However,I am still kinda traumatized from my last visit to the Xfinity store when I opened the Xfinity Mobile account, so it might be best that to jump through a few hoops with the new line instead of upgrading and going into the store.

True. I paid off my Stylo 4 online and was hoping to "upgrade" to the G8thinQ (I think it was) that came with the $450 gc few weeks ago but was told upgrades are for in store only and since closest store to me is about an hour away I just passed on that deal and got the Samsung A50(which also was offering a $250 gc but only with new line)

You mean in the past? Yes, I received $500 Visa card when they first ran a promotion for iPhone X. This was back in Dec 2017.

I don't see why not. You won't be asked to surrender your existing iPhone (if so, you might get an additional trade-in value).

I'm curious too. Xfinity website wants us to take it to a store for a trade-in value. I'll find out more tomorrow.
