I'm starting a new thread since the existing one is for new line or port in.

I called Xfinity mobile customer care to ask if they are offering any promotion to existing customers to upgrade to latest iPhone 11 phones and I was informed, in no uncertain terms , that I'm eligible for $250 Visa card if I were to buy a new iPhone 11 (Max or otherwise). He even read some written promotion to confirm when I told him I was suspicious of that offer. I even pointed out their website states that a new line or a port in is required... but I was informed that is not required.

The only requirement is I will have to buy the phone at a local Xfinity store.

Recommended: Place your order for the new iPhones on or after September 20th, 2019 *IN STORE ONLY*

Try your luck at your local store. YMMV.

On Friday I bought an iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. I went with in stock models because the store rep told me it had to be activated by Sept 30th. Probably not true but didn't want to take chances. But I can confirm that if you upgrade (as an existing customer) an active line that is on a paid off phone, and purchase an in stock phone, you qualify for the upgrade.

I went to a store in NorCal (Palo Alto) and they said I would still be eligible for the $250 card if they order the phone for me, even if it's backordered until Oct.

There's nothing on my paperwork or account that shows I'm getting it, but they put the orders through for me in store and they charged the account for the full amount today.
I also went to Palo Alto store but rep cautioned that any iPhone 11s that were not due to be received before September 30 would not qualify so I ordered 128 gb white one instead of the black one.

Thanks, they did not tell me that. I'll have to change my order as the Red is backordered until October.

I ordered on Friday from san Mateo hillsdale store. Got a call Saturday from their verification dept and had to verify info before they processed order. Fishy AF when you get random vmail claiming to be order verification. Verified number was legit and called back.

My xfinity mobile plan is free 100mb data plan, and I did not buy the $12 monthly data plan. If I upgrade my phone, will I lose my free 100mb data plan.

What I heard is that Xfinity no longer offer free 100mb data plan when you activate new line.

Just went to a store in IL. The guy says BYOD phones are not eligible for the upgrade promotion. I forced him to do it anyways but all the way to checkout, there was no mention of the $250 card anywhere. So I asked him to not proceed. His reasoning was that BYOD's aren't eligible.

Just talked to customer service and here is what they said

Thanks for considering Xfinity Mobile as your wireless carrier, now in order to be eligible to get the reward card, the device you upgrading from had to be a device you got from Xfinity mobile, now the device you currently have is a bring your own device. The bring your own device don't qualify for the promotion

I got a Pro Max today in San Jose on an existing BYOD line. The rep told me that I'd still qualify as long as the device is in stock. The device shows up as a replacement device on that line, and the old device is removed. So I'd think all's well. But I've got no confirmation that the prepaid card reward would be applied for me. For all other promotions, I always got an email with the subject "Prepaid card update" soon after. Waiting...

May I know which San Jose store you went to? I tried the one in Brokaw with no luck (BYOD).

Does this count as a new device purchase that would be eligible for the 1-yr free AppleTV+ service? I believe it should, and hopefully it will show up in the Apple TV app on Nov 1st:
Quote :
Get one year free Apple TV+ when you buy a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac.

Terms and conditions:
• Offer is available for a limited time only.
• Offer cannot be combined with other free trials or offers for Apple TV+. • Only one offer per Family, regardless of number of devices purchased. You can share your 1 year free Apple TV+ with up to 5 other family members via Family Sharing. • Redeem your 1 year free in the Apple TV app starting November 1, 2019. Make sure your eligible device is running the latest iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, or macOS.
• Offer must be claimed in the Apple TV app within 3 months after first setting up your new device. To see the offer appear, you will need to sign in with your Apple ID on your new device. If you've purchased your new device before the launch of Apple TV+ on November 1, you will have 3 months starting November 1 to redeem.
• Upon claiming the offer, you commit to a $4.99/month subscription that starts immediately after the 1 year free and automatically renews until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in Settings at least a day before each renewal date. If you cancel during your free year, you and your family members will immediately lose access to Apple TV+ and the remainder of your 1-year free trial. You can't reactivate this trial.

Eligible devices:
Any new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac capable of running the latest iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, or macOS purchased after September 10, 2019, from Apple or an Apple authorized reseller, is eligible.

You are grandfathered into your current free 100MB/month plan. You will not be forced to upgrade to the new plans/pricing. I am on the same plan, upgraded my BYOD line, and stayed on the same free 100MB plan.

As long as you are on the old plan, all new lines will stay on that plan. The only way to change to the new plans is to convert the plans for the entire account and all lines with it. I believe it also can only be done in-store and is not yet available to grandfathered users yet anyway.
