Walmart Layaway

5 10 October 14, 2019 at 09:21 AM
I'm trying to see if I placed a laptop ($500) on layaway and it drops in price let's say in a few weeks would I get the lower price or would I have to pay the initial price when I put it on layaway?

You have to go in and
void the layaway and then redo it. You have to weigh any cancellation fee verse how much your saving.

Not trying to be rude or sarcastic. Did you ask them this? If you didn't you should ask them directly. Store policies change all the time.

If you are talking about Black Friday, they always have rules in place to prevent people from putting the items on layaway then getting the reduced price after. If it is just a general sale price, then you might be able to cancel the items then repurchase at the lower cost. I am not entirely sure, you should check the local store for their policies.

Some stores even have special stock set aside for Black Friday and those specific items are sometimes priced at absurd amounts ($10,000 for an item that's gonna be $200 on BF) to stop people pre-buying them to try a return and re-buy on BF.

I know this because I tried asking about the one specific TV SKU for either last BF or the one before and it was showing $9,999.99 in the system. FacepalmLMAO

From my experience with placing a cell phone on layaway last year I was given the lower price immediately after a 50 dollar price drop. I was not required to repurchase because the system automatically adjusted for the price drop.
