Pretty huge sign that a new model is imminent when this one (almost exactly two years old) goes on heavy discount.

Have this, like it a lot, particularly with Infuse to read media off my NAS.

YMMV** If you have a chase card, check if you have an offer for $35 back when you make two transactions of at least $15 ea on AT&T's site. if you're in for two, you could potentially get $35 back

Jut bought it, appletv for a year, all i wanted was one for my living room already have one for my bedroom. Also when you get this when you play your apple music there are now lyrics. our 75 in tv with lyrics im going to have a party for sure lol. Thanks!!

You're not alone in hating the remote, but you can actually still use the remote from the previous model, which has buttons and can be bought separately for very little. It won't work for some things like games or Siri, of course.

Better processor than the fire stick, and it supports the latest in Dolby technology (atmos, vision, etc.) which as a far as I know Roku is still lacking, though I know some versions of the fire stick do support it. Having owned all three at one point or another, one could say Apple TV's UI is much more intuitive, responsive, and cleaner than that of the competition. It also bodes well with people that are in the Apple ecosystem, by making communication with other Apple devices more convenient. It's a preference for me, but I do understand the popularity behind the fire stick as well and you can't beat the price on Amazon's devices especially around the holidays.

So, bought one for myself cause of the one year Apple TV, and another one for my bro-in-law. So, if he opens it and sign in with his Apple ID, he would get the one year also right? Just double checking of how to receive the one year activation email.

On my BofA Cash Rewards card, I had an offer for $35 cashback for making two transactions of at least $15 each at AT&T Wireless. It's pretty slim pickings for finding a second item around the $15 mark, but I got a charger. Probably should have just ordered a second Apple TV.
