The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

At the end of August I took advantage of the Add a line, get a free line. If I take advantage of this deal, and then subsequently cancel the new line that you need to add to get it, will that have any impact on the add-a-line from August?
I have heard in the past that within a certain window of time any lines you cancel are your free ones first, so that's the point of my question.
So is this a partial bill credit or do you get a $580 Mastercard contingent on having a trade in? The "trade-in credit" is throwing me here.

Best deal is for a cheap iPhone 6s, and if you have an iPhone 8, selling that separately.
I'm sure you can easily get at least $200 for an 8 if you sell it yourself.

Even taking into account that I'd have to switch to T-Mobile for two months and pay $60/month, that's only an extra $50 in total compared to what I'd be paying anyways for service. Leaving me with the cost of $170 total for a brand new iPhone 11.
What am I missing? This seems to be too good to be true for my 6s!

I did a similar XR deal 5 times several months back when Costco was running this deal. I traded in 6s's and at one point they accepted the iPhone 6.
My suggestion, buy a cheap 6s/7 to trade in. Sell the 8 on your own to get more money back
